Thriftwood Scout Camp Site

Excellent place to take scout groups, woodland allows separation between camp sites so it feels less busy, lots of activities to do, closer to town for food shops etc.

Excellent Scout campsite, for Scouts, Guides and other youth groups.Lots of activities available on site, including a lake for kayaking or raft building, climbing wall, archery, axe throwing etc.There are 40 or so clearings amongst the trees for camping. Some sites large enough for District camps, down to small patrol or Unit sites. Many of the sites would be suitable for Troop or Pack camps. There are also indoor accommodation blocks available to use if preferred.There was plenty of hot water in the toilet blocks and these had decient showers attached.

Excellent setup, camp plots are surrounded by trees. Lots of activities including crate stacking, zip wire, wall climbing, demolition, fishing... Toilets are reasonable and scattered with an average 3 min walk away from each plot. You can park close to camp site for unloading/loading. Several water taps to fill up.

Great campsite facilities for Scouts and other youth groups located in a wooded area close to Brentwood, Essex.Individual camp sites are available for each group, and they all have cold water taps and electric hook up points.Toilet and shower blocks are located near the camp sites and they are shared facilities (individual cubicles).The activities provided (enquire about costs) include the crests run/slalom, a zip line, kayaking, pedal karts, assault course, climbing and axe throwing.Parking is limited, but there are spaces at the individual campsites for leaders and helpers.The site also has an open air chapel and it is used for multi denomination services.Access to Thriftwood is via the main gate and a gate code" is required. The gate security number is changed on a daily basis. The office will be able to inform you of the code if you have a booking.The campsite is not open to the public. It is only available to Scouts and youth groups."

Great camp for the cubs and scouts. My son has been twice and loved it both times.

Excellent site for group camps. Lovely, private sites with lots of woodland gives a lovely secluded feel to each site and makes you feel like everyone else is a long way away. Excellent lake for activities. We’ve camped here a few times and will be back again this Summer. It’s a shame splash isn’t still on, but I’m sure the new onside activities will keep out scouts busy.

Kids just got back from a divisional Beaver/Cub/Scout camp at Thriftwood. They absolutely loved it. Great activities in a large and safe setting.Friday evening when we dropped off at 7pm was chaotic. Cars everywhere trying to find fields on the narrow tracks, Tesco vans parked up delivering provisions, parents dumping their cars in stupid places and blocking it all up. Be prepared for the craziness.

Great adventure through the woods, simple ideas made fun. Great half term activity, affordable family fun.

Great scout activity centre. Loads of fun activities our young people loved every moment of our camp.
