I hired George after I was let down by another decorator and had paid them half up front.The job was to take down what the other decorator had done prep the walls, plaster and skim, wallpaper ceiling and walls, lay laminate flooring and fit 2 internal doors.He stated the job would be done in 5 days and started on the Saturday and he still was not finished by the following Sunday and still left it unfinished so it took him over 7 days as he never worked on the first Sunday.He was also very unreliable as would disappear for hours everyday and I had to constantly call him to find out where he was and took offence.He was also meant to collect some different ceiling paper and never so a day was wasted as I had to collect it myself.There was also some surprise labour charges for plaster boarding the ceiling which he added after the agreed price.Since he left I have had to finish off quite a few jobs myself.1. Laminate Edging, I had to fit pieces he never laid and tac it all down and i had to caulk it.2. I had to take off the living room door and cut it as it was not opening properly and he has not put in all the screws and has not fitted the latch for the frame either.3. He never decorated behind the radiator which he was asked to do.4. I have had to finish the glossing as there was lots of areas he didn’t do.5. The edges of the ceiling paper at the front of the room has not been cut where it meets the coving.6. The ceiling paper looks poor around the ceiling lights.7. I had to keep going back to B&Q for materials as he was not clear of how much was needed.8. He was a very poor communicator and was never clear and even ignored me at times.He was supposed to be bringing in someone else to do the flooring on the Saturday but fell out with them so was clearly not happy that he had to do it himself and when I questioned him about it he was very rude and disrespectful to me.For the £1120 that I paid him I don’t feel that I have received value for money and won’t hire him again.The positive I can say is that his sons are hard workers when he brought them.
