Halfords - Bicester

Ordered online, got confirmation email saying order was ready within the hour as promised on the website. Arrived at store to collect- gentleman on desk takes ages to contact someone in the back to find it, and then he prints off my receipt to say I’d collected it. Other man comes out from the back- had his colleague not contacted me yesterday to say they didn’t actually have it? Clearly not. Offered to see whether there were any in other local stores, which is not what I wanted. Offered to order one in to store- I said yes. Then there were payment issues because the first man had registered it as ‘collected’, so they had to refund and reorder for me (they then got confused as I’d ordered when there was an offer online which had since finished). Now waiting for it to arrive from another store, most likely having to wait a week now.

DONT USE THEIR CLICK AND COLLECT FOR CAR PARTS!!!!so I ordered brake discs on Halfords click and collect, according to the website they were in stock, collect in 1 hour. When I went into collect 1 HOUR LATER as instructed by emails, I was told the parts were being delivered by euro car parts and weren't there yet and they didn't know when they were arriving.... WHY SAY COLLECT AT XX:XX TIME and not have stuff ready! Wasted nearly an hour driving back and forth! If I'd have known euro car parts delivered their bits, I'd have just gone to the Euro car parts half a mile from Halfords and got them there and then! Halfords Bicester has become a literal joke over the last few years, I know I'm not the only one who would rather pay the McDonald's employee to change a bulb instead of Halfords we fit team and the staff themselves don't seem to know the difference between a brake pad and a brake shoe!

Website showed in stock at the Aylesbury store. Did not reserve as did not see a charging cradle to be high turnover.Drove 40 minutes.Arrived in store to no stock. Told all had been stolen.Staff in store were great help and fine, no issues with the customer service, just the stock control.I then drove on to another store in Bicester, about thirty minutes away from that one, after this time reserving the item.Phone call on the way (very shortly after placing the order) that I could not hear as I hadn't synched my phone due to low battery. They tried again and then left a voice mail, so again no issues with customer service.But this is now essentially a three hour trip that could have been avoided with decent stock control.Not best pleased, though again, the staff that I dealt with were great.

Poor service. Told to come down any day after noon as the bike technician will be in store. Arrived only to be told there isn’t one. Can’t phone ahead to check so complete waste of my time. No solution have to come back. Can’t leave the bike for when the technician is working and can’t book a time for the repair as the technician needs to assess the bike. Asked to speak to the manager not working. Complete shambles sort it out!!

5 star for two reasons: great equipment and purchase. But more importantly, amazing service from Jake and Tom at the bike area. I didn't go to Halfords looking for great service, but these two guys just set the bar quite high for my future visits to Halfords.Have I spent more than planned. Yes. But happy I have.Thank you both again for being so helpful, kind, honest, efficient, etc. just doing the right things for the business and customers. You two have turned a random client into a loyal one.

Ian in Bicester was excellent, he tried to save me money be explaining an membership offer that wasn't otherwise advertised and seemed genuinely pleasant and helpful. The only thing that let this experience down was a manager complaining to Ian about a delivery that was waiting to be put away whilst Ian was serving me. More clones of Ian and keeping middle management conversations to a professional standard away from colleagues and customers would push the rating up.

Excellent service all round - affordable, quick and kept in the loop at all times.Steve is a real asset to the Bicester Halfords team; he fitted two new speakers for my car which sound great, and he knew his stuff from start to finish. He was friendly & personable, and no question was too big or too small. Great ambassador for Halfords Customer Service. Whole transaction was very transparent & seamless all round.Cheers Steve and the Bicester Halfords team!
