J C Reid Compost

Called with John for the 1st time and got 2 large bags of compost. Very helpful & knowledgeable. We are laying out a new garden on a green field site with several hundred plants to plant. The compost looks superb and easy to work with. Will update our progress but confident we are on the right tracks.An update to my previous post. A year has passed and our newly planted gardens are thriving. In all we have bought 8 ton bags of compost which we have used to fortify our rather poor soil. The results have been amazing. Shrubs and annuals are amazing. The compost is a beautiful medium to work with, clean, fine textured and mixes easily with the soil. Used it at quite a high strength in my greenhouse and had tomatoes from early June until the end of October. Amazingly I had to apply no additional fertiliser. The plants flourished and provided the best tomatoes I have ever had in 20 years of growing. Also in my 14 x 8 greenhouse I had carrots, beetroot, celery & lettuce, all enjoyed the compost.I have now 30 sq mtrs of new raised beds waiting for next year's compost. They will be boosted by about 30% compost from John.
