Lakeside Hotel & Spa

Lovely hotel. Great staff. They put 10% service charge on everything. Beware.They also charge for checking out for using a bedroom! I think it is 5 0r £10 . It is all discretionary. Take it off your bill

We booked in for the spa day with afternoon tea. The hotel provides a valet service but seems as they share the land with an aquarium and the lakeside cruise company it's quite messy on the car park. I also had to ask them about the parking otherwise my car would have stayed on the drive all day.You are greeted with refreshments of pastry and a hot or cold drink and then shown to the exclusive spa/pool area. The facilities are amazing with a large pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Afternoon tea was served quickly and the spa technicians are professional and friendly.

A truly stunning location right on the edge of Lake Wyndamere. With boat and train rides right on your doorstep, along with some lovely walks.The hotel itself was a real touch of luxury and all the staff were helpful, polite and friendly.We also had a spa treatment, which added to the whole experience.The food was delicious, especially the evening meal, which was incredible, with every course delivering a mouth-watering sensation!!I definitely want to return and would definitely recommend!!

Our third visit here - a lovely hotel in a wonderful setting by lake windermere. Very clean and comfortable room 107 with little patio. Excellent food and service in all areas. We look forward to visiting again very soon! Thank you.

My first impression was excellent. However, when you stay there longer, you will realise the lack of attention to detail and professional service. The room was nice, big and with a lovely view but urgently needs deal cleaning.The food was good, but the price range didn't match the service and the whole dining experience.The SPA was lovely and huge. The massage was the best experience in the hotel, and the SPA attendants were very nice and friendly.

Stayed for a short break, and it was okay, I guess. The location is amazing, but the service was very hit and miss, and staff seemed untrained and understaffed and quite fed up looking, not level of service expected at this price point. The common areas within the hotel and restaurants have all been refurbished and are very nice. However, our room and bathroom were really dated and needing refurbished, which I believe is due in the future, so the sooner, the better. Once rooms are the same standard as the rest of the hotel and service improved, then it could be a solid 4-star hotel.

In a big group in numerous rooms, did not ask for room numbers just put everything on one room, we had to sort out who had what. No mattress for travel cots. Some staff a little of hand and of no help, especially the pregnant lady. Most staff helpful and friendly. Rooms were a little hot but fan provided

Lovely venue with extremely comfortable rooms. Spacious areas on the ground floor. Choice of dining. Comfortable bar. Staff are brilliant, professional, courteous and helpful with a smile. Good parking facilities. Quiet area but easily accessible to main touristy sites. Lovely forest walk just across the road. Aquarium opposite also steam train to Haverthwaite.

Spa day was great. Fab massage. Lovely chilling in the sauna and swimming. Was asked to pay at check in desk as pay points not working but it was check in/out time and was extremely busy. Service was a bit slow in dining room and I got the impression that the staff were new. All very young and seemed inexperienced.

We stayed 3 nights in the hotel. The hotel has a great location. We upgraded the room to the lake view, and it was worth it, The downside was that the windows can't be opened fully, only 10 cm It can be an issue on hotter days. Rooms required renovation, I'm giving 5 stars for the great location, next to the aquarium, steam train and boat pier (great when you stay with kids). The restaurant was ok , but they do not serve food after 8:30, and there's no room service, and no alternative restaurants around, also a glass of wine is £9, which is a bit expensive. The spa was great, it wasn't busy, our son loved the swimming pool. It's adults only from 7 till 9pm. But staff let our son in as there wasn't anyone in the pool.
