Coffee, cake and chilled atmosphere. Ideal stop for a light bite or just a drink. Very dog friendly.

A very lively cafe. It was busy when I visited on Sunday morning. They have plenty of tables and a fast turnover of customers, so people were not waiting very long to be seated. Service is at your table and you don’t pay until the end, which is the way it should be.I was greeted by the head waitress who gave me a menu, then popped back shortly to take my order. The operation appears to be highly organised, the staff friendly and efficient. It did seem rather noisy in there at times, with the combined chatter of all the customers. On that score I think the counterpart Jaunty Goat (Vegan) on Northgate Street is better, a little more peaceful even when full - perhaps better acoustics.

Had a day trip to Chester and ended up coming here twice in one day haha. Their coffee is so good! If you are into specialty coffee, this is the place. Both cappuccino and latte were great. But their cakes are out of this world!! They are all vegan, and being a non-vegan I can honestly say you can’t tell the difference, they are so delicious! My favorite was the carrot cake, but their lemon cake was also really good!

We’ve called in here a few times now so that probably gives a good indication of this very pleasant café. The coffee is really good and the vegetarian breakfasts are varied and tasty. There are no belly busters here, just good honest fresh food prepared very nicely by the attentive staff. This is obviously a regular for many people as some we recognised from our previous visit. Lovely!

Treated myself to a coffee and cake whilst I has 30 minutes spare. Never been before but it was fab. Friendly staff, delicious coffee and the carrot cake was divine. Loved the little Swan swirl in my coffee!Only thing not perfect are the stools....they're high with no step or foot rest, so you feel like a child with your feet dangling if you're petite like me.

Lovely food and a really cute little cafe. Staff were lovely and great to see that it’s dog friendly as well. Good options and I tried something out of my usual comfort zone which I ended up loving. Only problem was it was a bit messy to eat! Amazing looking cakes but we resisted this time. I will definitely be returning to try them out though.

Kala namak! Get the plant-based eggs. Kala namak will change your life. It's changed ours. As veggies trying to be more vegan, we know we'd miss scrambled eggs. Once you've tried theirs here as we did last month, you will immediately do as we did and hunt down kala namak (a big South Asian store will have it, it's also known as black salt) as it's the secret ingredient that finally transforms scrambled tofu (which I've had loads of times) into something that's genuinely better than scrambled eggs. I made it three times in 24 hours, it's so good. I returned today to the other branch (which is fully vegan) to try the original again, where they very helpfully gave me their recipe which was super similar to the one I've been using on the RainbowPlantLife website. Today I also had an excellent coconut mocha. Last time we had an incredible polenta cake. Service is sublime at both branches. Part of the reason I returned to Chester was to explore their menu further, which I'll be doing this week. It's rare that you find a place so consistently excellent.(later...)Loses a star however for cancelling my Too Good To Go order with no notice two days in a row. In four years of using TGTG this has happened to me once ever - with Jaunty Goat it's happened two days in a row. For heaven's sake don't put stuff on TGTG unless you have it available. It does tremendous damage to how your fans feel about your brand.Loses a further star for today's miserably soggy pancakes whose seasonal fruit" consisted of rather sad-looking browned diced apple. Service today was far below other visits too. I guess it's time to leave Chester before it gets any worse. At least the vegan branch is still good."
