Bens and Glens Guiding

I would highly recommend Bens and Glens Guiding. Our guide was called Antoni, who took my partner and I on three different hikes in the Inverness area. We wanted a mixture of straightforward walks and challenging hikes that would test our (mixed) ability. Antoni’s knowledge of what to recommend was impressive and we had a fantastic time across the two days. The weather was as beautiful as the scenery and I can’t wait to go back!

Antoni was a fantastic guide. He took us to a secluded part of the highlands where we practically had the place to ourselves - not an easy task on a bank holiday! We had the most beautiful panoramic views of the highlands from one coast to the other. He could point to practically any peak and name it. He also knew his flora and fauna, not just the names but the stories around them. So often I hike and I see something cool and forget to look it up so very convenient to have a walking encyclopedia! I bagged my first monroe on the trip, and my second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh. Due to high pressure and calm weather we were able to camp up on a saddle, where we watched the sunset. He told us not try this on our own, but having figured out the weather patterns he felt we were very safe - which we were. One of the highlights was seeing a full grown hare emerge from behind a rock, not something we would have witnessed if we'd taken a more popular route. In summary, trip was was amazing and that was mainly due to Antoni (and the hare).

An outstanding day out on Ben Nevis via the CMD Arete, with a grade 1 scramble!Based on my previous experience in the mountains, Antoni suggested an alternative route to the tourist track, with some spectacular views of the North Face of the Ben. It was my first graded scramble, but I felt confident with his guidance and never out of my depth. Thank you for such an amazing day!

We used Bens & Glens Guiding for a long weekend in the Cairngorms and I couldn’t recommend them more. As well as a long munro hike, we also took in the sights with walks around Loch Ness, waterfalls and the green loch - all were stunning and Antoni was great at demonstrating genuine passion; offering real insights along the way but also knowing when to let nature do the talking. We’ll be back!

I am a fairly inexperienced hiker from the Netherlands. I travelled to Inverness to explore the Scottish Highlands. Antoni made sure to pick the perfect route for me. He did a great job taking into consideration both my experience and the weather. It was a rainy and foggy weekend but he made sure I got the most of my hike, including two Monros and amazing scenery. Throughout the day he always kept an eye out for me, making sure I was okay. It made me feel very safe. He’s not only very experienced and knowledgeable but also a great guy. Next to outdoor adventures and amazing views you’ll also be ensured of interesting conversations. All in all, a great choice for your Scottish Highland adventure. I am very grateful for his guidance and would highly recommend him as a guide to anyone wanting to explore the Scottish Highlands.

Had the most amazing time, with fantastic guide Antoni. He took time to understand my experience level, and gave me a few different options for routes that would be doable in the less than ideal weather conditions!Antoni was so knowledgeable about the area, and I learnt a lot about planning and executing a great day’s hike. ⁃ I’m an older hiker but have climbed and hiked quite a few mountains and used Bens and Glens for my recent hikes in Scotland. I climbed Ben Nevis and Ben Lomond with my guide Antoni . We had some scary weather , wind , rain , hail and cold , very cold but I was reassured and looked after by my guide and felt safe . Antoni is knowledgeable and experienced and talked about the flora and fauna en route . I will definitely use Bens and Glens again .

Antoni was an encouraging and extremely knowledgeable guide. He is fantastic at keeping a pace that is comfortable for all the group, whilst being challenging. He took us to places we would have never found ourselves and shared all kinds of interesting facts about the history and geology of areas we visited. It was great fun! I have absolute trust in him as a guide - 100% a safe pair of hands. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a hike with him.

Antoni was my group guide on a trip to the Cairngorms last October. He managed the different fitness levels of the group expertly and was full of interesting facts about the geology, flora and fauna. Was like having our very own Spanish Simon Reeve!

I’ve had two of the best hiking experiences with Antoni / B&G and couldn’t recommend enough. He always started each day by making sure everyone was comfortable with the routes ahead and suggesting a couple of options depending on how we were feeling and the weather. I’m an experienced hiker and Antoni knew how to get the best of the group by encouraging us to try new things, but always making sure we felt safe, comfortable, and within our limits. He had great knowledge to share, including on all the local flora and fauna. I can’t wait for my next adventure!
