Rooms are beautiful unfortunately We wear located very far from hotel so needed to take a car every single time (with 2 and 4 year old :/ )Staff should learn how to be kind and respectful to the guests even my kids know how to say good morning.Swimming pool available for kids only for 3 hoursa a day 9.30-11.30 and 4.30-5.30. (jacuzzi not available for kids)Lady at the spa has lost her good manners….Not going to stay there again!!!!! Not a family friendly hotel!!!!

The venue was lovely, the views were stunning. The afternoon tea was well presented, and tasty. My only problem was I don't like peel which was in the Scones and Saffron BunStaff were friendly and attentive.

Amazing place, really cozy and clean rooms. Staff is helpful and really accommodating (special thanks to Irma). The sauna and heated pools are perfect to warm up after a cold water dip in the ocean!

NO WAY 5*!!! A picturesque Victorian era building in need of significant upgrading. As a previous reviewer said, most of the rooms are in buildings away from the main hotel and are pretty shabby. Our two bedroom suite, costing over £1,000 per night was very basic with a shared bathroom and tiny bedrooms. Typical of Cornwall hotels, the staff were largely temporary and displayed no sense of pride in service or in the hotel. The dining room is a 1960‘s throwback and much too small to cater for all the guests. If you don‘t manage to get a reservation for Breakfast (!!!) then you have to resort to room service: the room service breakfast menu looks amazing but don’t be fooled, it‘s really basic just like the rest of the hotel.

Staff in this hotel have serious attitude issuesThe worst place for a long timeThought about leaving prior to checking inA bar person that does not know what a tonic water isBooking your breakfast pre booking in. And asked on every occasionHAVE YOU BOOKEDIN FOR BREAKFAST ???Then, when you get your slot for breakfast, they have the wrong timings down, the place is empty and told to come back later.Whats that all about for a cold fried eggFOOD not edibleI could go on, this place is not a £500 a night quality hotel.Try the Harbour Group Hotels, they know hospitality

Wonderful location and really nice spa. The hotel does need to do a lot more to make sure their listings are both honest and understandable. We booked a garden view room. We assumed this meant a room in the hotel with a garden view. It actually meant a room behind someones house (you had to go through their side gate) on a busy main road 15 minutes away from the hotel. If we had known this, we would have booked an Airbnb for much less money and a much better room/view. We were told we could order a taxi to get back to the hotel but this really is quite unacceptable and not made clear to us when we booked. We ended up paying extra to move to the main hotel, but the price is significantly more expensive than other luxury 5 star hotels we've stayed at elsewhere. The carpet had stains and the wall and furniture was full of scuff marks. The view was wonderful. Breakfast was included and was decent enough. The staff were friendly.

My father booked this as part of a UK road trip after being given a few months to live with a terminal cancer diagnosis. His health deteriorated faster than we hoped, and he only has a week or so to live. We called to cancel with 3 weeks' notice, and after explaining the situation, the hotel still refused a refund. The policy may be the policy - but 0 points for humanity.... will avoid for the rest of our families' lives

The views makes you forgive a lot but the service and food in main house is just so poor. The breakfast was particularly bad, just terrible quality. The spa facilities are good and the ugly butterfly and Walters food and drjnks were great.

We only visited the place to look at the changes that have been made to the whole area. Very surprising the up grade that the hotel had gone through. Can not give review of rooms.
