Stafford House

First week of August 2023 we were gathering as a family - three generations - in Greystoke to attend an important birthday celebration. We booked two nights' accommodation in Stafford House, taking two B&B Rooms and the Guest Lodges, our first visit to the premises.From our delightful welcome from Hazel and Ian, their warm attention to all of our needs, their continual vigilance to ensure that we were well-fed (exceptional home cooking) comfortable and fully informed about the locality, to the sad occasion on the third day when we had to depart, we were treated to the highest calibre of hospitality and generosity.Our event was very successful and enjoyable and this was due in large measure to our very good fortune to stay at Stafford House.We can't really expect another seventieth birthday party to involve us in Greystoke but we certainly intend to revisit Stafford House. Because of what is delivered, we were incredibly lucky to get time there at all and for a future visit we'll book very well in advance.

We stayed here for one night before a charity walk in the Lakes. Hazel and Ian were friendly and accommodating hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Our room in Stafford House was beautifully presented and well equipped with everything you could need. Fantastic gardens surround the house!

In my 60+ years of stopping in hotels, B&Bs all over different countries this is by far the best that I have stopped in. The house is steeped in history, the rooms are superb along with the hosts, Ian and Hazel. I stopped in the room with the four poster bed. Very comfortable and the house was unbelievable, it was so relaxing and peaceful with a great breakfast. Everything added up, lovely house, great hosts , great breakfast and lovely village.I can not recommend a stay here enough, do yourself a favour stay here for a great relaxing time.

Great little b&b in the middle of the town.Large car park almost next door but it is nearly £8 per day.There is a very nice place to stroll along the promanard. We went on a Monday so many places shut here but there is a Greek restaurant nearby that is open and really nice

Lovely hosts and very clean and comfortable accommodation. The gardens surrounding the house were lovely too. Good pub grub within 5 mins walk.

Beautiful location, home and room. Hazel & Ian made us feel so welcome and nothing too much trouble. Only stayed for 1 night but so wish we had stayed more. I cannot believe this is only a 4 star rated B&B most definitely should be a 5! I have never been anywhere that thinks of EVERYTHING, from shoe mats, to make up wipes. Right down to an essential magnifying mirror!!! Definitely worth a visit and we most certainly will come back and stay longer

We have just returned from a 3 day break at Stafford House. It was fabulous! Hazel and Ian were the best hosts you could ask for. The accommodation was absolutely beautiful and the cleanliness second to none. The breakfasts were amazing, so much choice and huge portions. We can't compliment Hazel enough for the way she runs her hotel. If we ever travel to the lakes again we would stay without doubt and highly recommend to family and friends. Thank you Hazel for making our stay perfect.

Stayed here for our wedding anniversary last weekend and absolutely loved it. Hazel and Ian could not do enough for us totally went above and beyond. They are so welcoming and we cannot wait to return. If I could rate them 10 stars I would.Angela & Keith Spencer

Fantastic place to stay with great hospitality from Ian and Hazel ,with great rooms super clean and tidy everything you need for a few nights away .The breakfast is one of the best I've had for ages with a super choice to cater for all needs.And close to a local pub set in some stunning countryside.I would highly recommend staying.Thanks Simon Beech
