Food was lovely. Staff lovey and attentive. When asking for the bill we were told to go to the bar as we were paying by card where we were given the bill and paid. When we got back to the car I checked the will and we were charged for 3 extra expensive alcoholic drinks which we didn’t request? Check your bill when leaving as we were very overcharged!

The four of went to Holdi to eat last night after hearing recommendations from several family members and friends.We entered after booking a table and were stood in the lobby waiting with a freezing cold draft blowing on us for around ten minutes. Eventually one of us stepped past the queue and said we were booked in, we were shown to a table but were then moved a few minutes later due to a mix up.The table we were seated at the 2nd time was in the corner right down the bottom of the restaurant, making it very difficult to attract any staff members attention. Because of this, we had to stand up four times, to ask for menus, to ask to order drinks, to ask to order food, and to ask where the poppadoms were 20 minutes later. (they had been sent to another table).When the food itself came, everything was incredible - from the temperature to the portion sizes. I can see why this place is so loved!Personally though I felt we had to battle for the attention of the staff, it was far too busy with really not enough floor staff seeing to customers. 4/5 stars, will try coming back when it's a little quieter.

Food is gorgeous service is the worst ever. 3 hrs we was there. Took 15 minutes to come round and ask for drinks. Then another 30 to come round to ask for food. Poppadoms came finally but after that they started rushing the dishes. Ended up having our main with the starter. And a bonus we started eating the starters before we got the drinks. Too many staff running round like headless chickens. How it is constantly busy ill never know. 2nd time I've been and twice its been the same. Would AVOID at all costs...

Disappointing experience after hearing so many positive reviews I was excited to try Holdi but the service wasn't great. We waited 30mins for drinks and when the food arrived it wasn't very good. The staff were lovely and were the best part of the meal. The bill was also very high and its just not good value. Would not recommend

Really busy on a Saturday night, waited hr n a half for mains n hr for starters, wouldn't mind but when my food came it was legit awful. Sour keema pilau like the lamb was off. Gritty green masala with the spices burned taste and the lamb tough as nails. Also my lamb chaat was tasteless but tasted a bit fishy....won't be back. Did complain and was offered free food to take home but declined, honestly the worst curry I've ever had. You can check my other curry reviews and see I've been around a bit.

Sadly my delivery was 45mins late and lukewarm warm. It was only in plastic containers and nit insulated. They did reduce the bill, but there were lots of excuses which really didn't hold to question or challenge. Wouldn't order again. Food was OK,but the purple olive is much better and worth getting in the car to collect.

Mains were bland and lukewarm, small portions, young waiters running around like headless chickens, noisy. The takeaways are ok apparently, but I won't be going back. A lasting experience according to the website, wouldn't disagree with that. It's beyond me how this place is so busy, I can only assume it's because locals don't want to venture further afield.

I’ve been here before and it was spot on but this time around it was my sisters 50th birthday they had us spread over two tables and only one waiter serving us, took over an hour to even come over and ask for what we wanted to drink and then they only asked one table, we complained but they done it again when the food was orderedI was quite shocked as the place is usually top drawer but a massive let down if am honest, the food is never a question it’s always quality but the service failed this time around

Came here for my sister birthday. Food was lovely but the service was shocking.Waited over a hour for a drink. Waited another 45 minutes for food.Not organised one bit. Then my dad had to pay £70 for a meal that clearly wasn’t that amount but he didn’t inform us till we left which I was fuming over.Since then iv heard the waiters but on charges so please check your bills.I wouldn’t advise anyone to go here there are restaurants in town with nice food and lovely service and where your not robbed
