I requested help with this Advocacy Project. At first I thought I was going to get assistance in my battle with NHS and North Lanarksire Council relating to their Contraventions of the Human Rights Act. I spoke to an advisor at Advocacy Project, who in turn spoke with North Lanarkshire Council. Next thing I am told that Advocacy Project cannot help me. I WAS NOT IMPRESSED WITH THEIR SERVICE, THIS SERVICE DOES NOT WANT TO TAKE ON THE COUNCIL'S OR NHS.IF YOU NEED HELP AGAINST YOUR COUNCIL OR NHS THE ADVOCACY PROJECT DO NOT WANT TO KNOW

I cannot recommend this project enough, Cartoons Petrie is a credit to the project, giving my disabled brother a voice.

This service has completely fallen apart. Perhaps they did what they claim to do once upon a time but the certainly do not now. It genuinely sounds like they are ready to shut up shop but it would be better if they just did that rather than shutting up people … I genuinely cannot work out what they do anymore. Such a good idea of a service and help that have turned into yet another barrier and service you have to battle with to get help from. Insanity.

A few years back or more. I had my house forcefully invaded by a support worker and a quack nut job against my will or consent and was being threatened sanction over not managing to keep up with a couple of bins in my flat without support due to physical n mental disabilities and poor health. I knew my rights at the time and needed an advocacy because I was mentally and emotionally affected by the abuse n mistreatment at the hands of so called care even so far as taking away my phone and bag in a dr office for recording the way I was being treated prior to that. This advocacy had the audacity to change sides n turn on me too. Later it turned out without their help the quack n support confessed they only threatened me to instill fear into me to control me to get me to do what they wanted. I haven’t been able to trust doctors support or this advocacy since for not defending my rights and helping me while I was at my most vulnerable. I now recently have threats n verbal harassment and verbal abuse by new support over being kicked out my home due to bins due to my physical n mental disabilities n health which I again learnt that they can not treat me this way and now have no where to turn for help. Because it’s the only service available for advocacy in Glasgow.
