The Royal Oak
Amazing food with generous servings! Large pork chop nice and tender with mash with an infused twist! Well presented and very reasonable priced. Well worth the trip out to it, just be sure to ask for the WiFi password as signal is spotty.

A nice get together for a family meal. One of the tables was very low and we were offered a nice table in the window. Nice size heartley main meals just did not get a check back.

Very welcoming as we were worried about our muddy dog!! Good local beverages to choose from as well. Nice fireplaces to keep you warm on a cold day. And the food was great. We visited at lunchtime and had a tomato and mozzarella sandwich and a flatbread with prosciutto and garlic and we could not fault either. We drank a cider called ‘badger’ and a bitter too both of which were great! Very highly recommend

Food was revolting, cheese soufflé was cold and didn't look or taste like soufflé. The only thing that the chef actually prepared was the salad but probably even the dressing was not home made. The bean burger, bun, chips, chocolate brownie, ice cream and I bet the soufflé was also not made by the chef. I never go there again, very bad experience! Put me off going out for meals.

Food is of a consistently high quality, but today it wasn't hot when brought to us, one star lost for that. The amount of ice cream accompaniment on the desserts is a bit stingy for the price - not even one scoop. Service is efficient when it comes, but too often there are long gaps when no-one shows - it took quite a while for us to get mint sauce and horseradish brought to us because no-one was around to ask (should have been brought with the meals in the first place!). Room for improvement. Food is very good though. Recommended

I've been to the Royal Oak about 5 or 6 times. It's a really nice venue. I first went years ago for a workmates leaving do in which we had the venue at the rear of the garden. It's a really nice area.Other than that I've had a couple of meals in the inside restaurant and a couple of meals outside. The food is very good.I went recently and my main issue is that the cost has gone up. It was £18 for a fish and chips. It's a very good fish and chips but that's quite expensive for this type of venue.Another slight negative is that we were sat in the garden eating and we were the only people out there. And so we could hear the kitchen staff shouting and swearing at each other. Which isn't ideal when you are there with a child. It is a really nice venue and good food, worth trying.

We dropped in here on the off chance forwarded table for 6. Could not have welcomed us any better. Excellent service, great food, lovely people who served us. We had variety of different meals & drinks and everything was lovely, and we cannot find fault with any of it.Thanks

We wanted to have a nice lunch in a local pub on our way to Sudeley Palace. I called ahead to book a table. The staff was friendly and professional. The pub itself looks amazing and the food was delicious. We ordered the ham terrine to share as a starter which was delicious. It was well prepared. As a main I have had the lamb chop which came out with his jus, potatoe gratin and crushed peas. It tasted so good. My friend ordered the falafel salad which came with Pitt’s bread, hummus, olives, roasted peppers and courgettes. And he also enjoyed his meal.We will definitely be back when visiting Cotswold.
