Dylan is an exceptional guitar teacher that has been teaching me guitar since I was 10. From classical to jazz and modern pieces, I have learned many renowned pieces of the guitar repertoire, learning not only how to play them but also the proper techniques to adopt fitting styles. Dylan is an awesome teacher: his lessons are one of my favorite moments in the week. Dylan is extremely knowledgeable and experienced as a musician and teacher, making his lessons always deeply interesting; this combined with his enthusiasm, kindness and patience. With him I have greatly progressed in guitar, both in playing and the theory aspect. I highly recommend Dylan to everyone who wishes to progress or start playing guitar!

I’ve played classical guitar for more than 10 years and I’ve been taking lessons from Dylan for about 3 months. He is an exceptional guitarist and teacher who plays fantastically well all guitar styles from classical, rock through to jazz and blues. His explanations on improving technique are very clear and are based on his detailed analysis of good sound production. You not only learn, for example, the right technique for controlling the guitar tone and volume but why the particular method works. He suggests and demonstrates alternative ways of interpreting a song or classical piece, alternative fingerings etc. and provides you with some easy methods for solving problems you may encounter playing guitar and for general improvement. A true professional and a very talented guitarist and teacher. Highly recommended.

Mr.Asena is not only a passionate and talented musician/guitarist in his own right, but I have been impressed with how brilliantly he nurtures these qualities in the students he teaches. His passion for inspiring his students has always impressed me and the results were always joy to witness at the concerts he prepared with his students. I initially attempted to learn to play guitar as a child however quickly resolved at the age of 11 that guitar playing was not for me.I decided to revisit a relationship with this same guitar as an adult with Dylan. Dylan's knowledge and skill level is truly inspiring.Dylan encouraged me to push through my self doubt and prove to myself that I was capable of visiting areas of learning which I could not have imagined previously.Dylan's positive attitude has helped me to grow in confidence in other areas of my life too. Extremely knowledgeable and experienced in all things guitar and music, from the best playing techniques to performance and equipment means Dylan is able to tailor each lesson to my needs and preferences, wherever I'm at in my skill level and interest. Dylan is a well-respected and insanely skilled classically-trained musician but also an exceptional teacher, which is just as important from a student's standpoint. Nothing more frustrating than having lessons with an expert who can't teach! I like a wide range of music styles including rock, jazz, blues and more and Dylan is able to cover them all with me. Dylan is very professional, friendly and clearly loves the guitar and teaching which bleeds into every lesson. Our 10 year old son has been learning the acoustic and electric guitar with Mr Asena for two years now and loves it so much we usually don't even stop during school holidays. He switched seamlessly during lockdown from in person to online classes, he often spends longer than the allotted time on lessons, he patiently explains and he allows our son to choose the songs he wants to learn. He is teaching him how to work out the notes by ear, how to play the same song in different positions and has also been extremely helpful to us when it came to buying the equipment and getting it to work! We highly recommend him and can't imagine a better teacher.

Dylan is a great guitar teacher for my son. We can do everything through visio. Dylan is also adaptable to change slots and rearrange to our agenda. My son has progressed a lot even during home school. I strongly recommend him.

Dylan is incredibly knowledgable and experienced as a professional guitarist and musician, that much is clear: but more than that, he’s an excellent teacher (and having had many a music teacher in the past, that is hard to come by!!) !! He’s patient, kind and instills a confidence in the ability to learn, progress, with solid rationale and technique behind it all - if you’ve never played an instrument before, or have previously tried and struggled (that's me), Dylan is the man to learn with!

With my guitar gathering dust in the corner of my room I decided to commit to guitar lessons and Asena Guitar Academy came highly recommended. I'm hooked! Dylan's very encouraging, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. He's worked with some of the most credible guitarist and this versatility shows in his teachings. The one-on-one interaction beats any of the apps I've tried with a bespoke lesson structure, which keeps me committed and disciplined. Couldn't recommend Dylan more highly!!!
