Awful service and when you won’t have surgery which they push for they don’t want to know you anymore, they send you 3 minute videos to watch on YouTube and that’s it! Appalling!

Are TBC on commission for surgery? Because it certainly feels that way!If you don't want surgery, which I don't, their support is gone faster than a toupee in a hurricane! When I spoke to the dietitian I told him that I feel I am constantly being pushed to surgery, because everytime I speak to anyone at TBC it's 'have you thought anymore about surgery?', no means no. I then passed on a phone call with the fitness lady, telling her I didn't see the point as all anyone does is talk about surgery, so she said she'll pass my comments onto 'Karen from the office' whoever that is? But that was 15 May, and I've not had anything back.I've been doing this course for nearly a year and a half now and I'm no further forward as I feel I'm just being fobbed off with basic information that anyone can work out for themselves. When I started they promised me real guidance and support. Now they know my thoughts of surgery, nothing.I wanted to give less than 2* but the second star is for the nice ladies I see when I get weighed in. Whilst they aren't there to advise in anyway they are never judgemental so I appreciate them.

I have been with TBC for nearly two years they have done everything in there power to help and advise me in so many many way I could never have got this far without them. The Surport from all the staff I have had dealings with which I truly believe they are an amazing bunch of people, with there encouragement helped me loose a total of 2stone so far, plus I intend to keep going when I complete with them in July. Thank you

If you want weightloss help without surgery forget it, Try to complain and the shutters come down and they are not interested , 6 weeks to reply to first complaint and when I escalated it as per there complaints procedure I was discharged back to my gp with no further response from tbc again they have no answers. Just for reference I lostnearly a stone before I started with tbc but when I was told I was only with them for 6 months not the 2 years I was initially promised it totally destroyed me ,what help is 6 months when I've battled with my weight for the last 20 or so yrs, im 55 now . Tbc stands for The Bariatric Consultancy so this tells you all you need to know, and the NHS should never awarded a contract at tier 3 for a 6 month referral . This company has the contract I believe for all of east sussex and some of west Sussex. And if you do complain boy do they try and make out it sall you're fault. So if you don't want surgery good luck.

They try to shoehorn you in their pre-conceived ideas about how you came to be overweight (apparently down to having a poor relationship with food from childhood) and have a complete lack of understanding that their one-and-only weight loss programme doesn't work for everyone. Thanks to a hospital who miscalculated my BMI and delayed an operation (41 instead of the actual 36 - still overweight, but not to the point that the operation should have been delayed), my doctor who said I had 'cracked the diet' (simple protein and veg/salad - minimal carbs) and now just needed to sort my weight, and the TBC programme who just don't listen, I do now have a poor relationship with food - because I am getting desperate. Whereas I was eating a well-balanced diet, and taking plenty of exercise, but not seeing any weight loss at all, I have been forced into fasting and bulimia in order to get my weight down to have an operation for a condition that is also having a massive impact on my mental health. The reason I joined TBC was because the 2nd tier had refused to take me because of medication I was on. I had joined TBC because I genuinely hoped and believed that someone would finally recognise the battle I have had with weight - that a healthy diet and exercise just weren't working. But TBC is just like everyone else: you're overweight, therefore you must overeat.That is NOT the case. Somebody somewhere needs to recognise that most overweight people don't CHOOSE to be overweight and have already tried just about everything. By the time they join TBC they are desperate. For the record, I followed the TBC programme to the letter, but I put on weight - just as I knew I would. I am now at the heaviest I have been for ages, and am fighting to undo the damage caused by the programme. Sorry, TBC. I was really well-motivated when I joined, but you've taken away my confidence and just haven't listened to me.

An absolutely life changing experience, with top notch staff who are approachable, friendly, enthusiastic and really give one to one attention and care. I cannot recommend them highly enough and hope they realise what a fantastic job they do.

Fantastic support from start to finish. Never critical or patronising have had 2 years superb support and guidance.Have helped me achieve nearly 20% weight loss couldn’t have achieved it without TBC support

Push you for barriatric surgery and when you say no, they don't give a f about helping you. The dietitian I had spent a few minutes on the phone to me and didn't even want to help with my questions. Two months and no contact from a dietitian now. Extremely poor service. I wouldnt recommend.
