Hafen Y Coed, Llanelli, has amazing staff that have adopted my dad Ray as their own. At the moment, I am unable to be with my lovely dad as I,m away for personal reasons.I need to mention that the entertainment team, Marie Spires, Claire Hanford & Sue Jenkins, are absolutely amazing. They face time me with dad, so he is in contact with me. They spoil him by taking him out. Providing him with photo copy pictures he can relate to, they make sure he is invited to events even if he doesn't want to join in. They make sure that dad never feels lonely or unwelcomed. They treat every client with so much empathy & respect. My heart bursts with such respect for these extremely hard-working entertainment teams. They are a credit to Hafen Y Coed.Hafan Y Coed Llanelli staff makes me feel so at ease leaving dad in their care. The nursing staff & health care nurses, kitchen staff, hotel services etc etc. are all a credit too to Hafan Y Coed. The staff make sure dad is clean & well fed & provide medical support when he needs it. They encouraged dad to be as independent as possible while knowing they were there to support him if needed. The saying is true, a happy & positive manager, i.e., Sarah Morgan makes happy positive staff.Thank you all.Especially Marie Spires. Claire Hanford & Sue Jenkins for face timing me with dad. ❤️❤️❤️Regard & Love, Debbie Lewis

I really cannot recommend Hafan Y Coed enough. We as a family cannot thank the management and staff enough for the care, dignity and respect that they showed my Dad during his time at the care home. Each member of staff treated him as if he was one of their own family and I cannot personally thank them enough. During his final days you could really see how much of a bond he had developed with the team and this was so comforting to us as a family knowing that he was receiving the highest level of care. Thankyou so much to Sarah and her amazing team.

My grandmother has been on Hafan y coed for 5 months now and what can I say… wow! She is very well looked after! The activities team put on so many activities to suit her bespoke needs. It’s lovely to see. She always comments saying she loves the food so well done chef! She loves living there and she wants to buy a room ❤️

Having taken part in a fund raiser event at Hafan Y Coed Home today it was great to se a very happy and friendly environment for the residents to engage in activities with the staff. It was well presented and clean for the residents as well as meeting the needs for the those with mobile issues so they could engage in the activities. While participating in the bike ride charity event we were watching how the staff were engaging with residents in a friendly and professional manner making sure that they were in enjoying the event. From a personal and business perspective it was great to see a care home engage so well with the residents vey refreshing and will happily support them in future charity events

After eight miserable weeks of being there, my 82 year old mother left with ten broken ribs, two broken shoulder blades, a fractured eye socket and had over a litre of blood drained off her damaged lung. No staff witnessed anything so were unable to give any suggestions of what caused these injuries, that Glangwilli Hospital said were comparable to “a head on collision or motorbike accident”. Safeguarding was raised by the hospital and my mother was discharged 6 weeks later to another care home, where she sadly passed away. The Barchester complaints procedure was pointless as again no witnesses to the incident meant no accountability. Would never have placed my mother here if I had known then the poor levels of care given. I could say so much more, medication found on her bedroom floor, never an option of brown bread etc all minor complaints now. Overall, there are no doubt some good staff working there, but as a whole I would definitely advise to avoid.

It was a very difficult decision to make when the time came that I could no longer care for my mother at home. But from the first assessment at our home I was made to feel confident it was the right decision. Everyone has been so caring and supportive.Four weeks in, my mother has settled in and appears happier than she has been in a long time. In retrospect it must have been quite a lonely experience with (mainly) only me for company. The staff at Hafan y Coed are very professional and friendly. There us always something going on to entertain the residents, and it is a delight to see.I am also made to feel welcome and the activities staff keep in contact with me via photos and messages about Mam which do wonders to reassure me she is being cared for in the right place. To Sarah and all your staff ... a very big thank you! You are all brilliant!

My wife moved to Hafan y Coed in May 2022, suffering amongst other things from severe dementia. She had been in hospital for 7 months receiving treatment for problems primarily associated with her dementia. We had been married for 52 years and I wanted her to come home, but it was clearly impractical for her to do so. It was a very difficult and painful decision to come to the conclusion that she should enter a nursing home. All I wanted was that she should not suffer. After 6 months, I now know that it was the right decision and the right choice of home. Every member of staff has been kind, caring, and considerate, and that includes housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, administration, activity organisers, carers, nurses and management. The staff and management seem, without exception, to be dedicated to the wellbeing of the residents and providing a friendly, homely and welcoming atmosphere. The home is very clean and well maintained both inside and out. A wide range of activities for residents are arranged and everyone encouraged to participate, if they wish. The layout and facilities of the home allow communal activities and privacy where desired.I have been welcomed to visit the home and spend time with my wife as often and as long as I wish, and to date have not missed a day.The home encourages nominations for employee of the month. I find this difficult because almost everyone at this home deserves recognition for the hard work, dedication and positive approach they display. To pick out an individual is difficult because of the daily instances of kindness and “going the extra mile” shown by the staff. My wife has settled into the home better than I expected and she now treats it as her home because of the kindness and care shown by everyone. Thank you all, you demonstrate the best side of humanity.

My Mum fought against leaving her own house, but she settled very quickly into Hafan, and is very happy there. The staff are absolutely wonderful, the ethos is amazing, and they really do put the “care” into “care home”. Mum smiles much more now, and I know she is well stimulated, looked after, fed delicious meals, treated with respect and love (she even gets her nails done!)

As a family we cannot give enough praise to Hafan-y-Coed. We will never forget the care Dad received from the team and equally the support the staff gave to us as a family. The home itself especially in the public rooms feels modern, bright and homely and Dad had nothing but praise for the food.Unfortunately Dad wasn't able to participate in the activities but the team worked so hard and always had a smile on their face whilst keeping the residents entertained.Sarah and the team should be so proud of themselves and each other as what they do every day is nothing short of remarkable.Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
