Beacon Fell Country Park
This is such a beautiful place to visit with pathways for every ability. Short, medium or long walks surrounded by the most beautiful scenery, we spent a whole day just rambling around finding the tree sculptures, playing and climbing trees and hiding out in the handmade shelters with the children. Brilliant cafe and toilet block on site and you park for just £1 a day! Perfection right there and a brilliant family day out.

Beacon Fell Country Park
Amazing place! If you want to go to a high altitude place in Preston, Lancashire, this would be a great choice. Hills, woods, sculptures, birds, blowing wind, and many things will capture your eyes.Car parking, visitors center, play area are the other pros of this place. Visitors center has a nice and tidy cafe. Those who want to experience a little trekking, could chose this place. Remember the place is difficult to reach by public transportation. You better need a car. Roads are narrow near the park but the view is excellent.

Lovely walk round. We only did the red route(about 40 mins) nice sculptures to find along the way. The teenagers enjoyed it too.

Beacon Fell Country Park
Always a lovely place for a walk with family and friends and a picnic. Very popular with families and dog walkers. Good for children as there are many wood carvings to discover amongst the trees, and the ever popular stone snake. The volunteers here work hard to keep the park tidy. The cafe at the visitors centre is now open again. Dogs can't sit in the cafe but there are tables and benches outside. Plenty of parking. A small fee is required if you park at the visitors centre (£1 for the day) but there are many other car parks around around the fell. There is. BBQ area on Carwags (the road up from the east side) with a path up to the main part of the Park. There is a one way system around the fell which avoids problems on the single track road. Great views across Parlick, Fairsnape, Bleasdale fell, and out toward Morecambe bay from the summit. Nice easy fell for smaller children to summit before trying harder walks in the Bowland area.

A family oriented walk through managed forestry over decent surfaces and complete with a cafe and toilets upon your return to the very reasonable car park. Pleasant, green and lovely with just enough effort to make you believe that you deserve coffee and cake aftwards.

I hadn't been to Beacon Fell since before Covid, and now osteoarthritis makes walking difficult. There are more paths and amenities (Sept 2023), and various areas have been replanted with mixed woodland. The view from the trig. point at the top is as good as ever!
