Home is badly under staffed, management inc directors bully, manipulate medical records and audits against members of staff they have a personal dislike of, residents regularly left, prescriptions not collected in time for residents needing medication, senior members sit in their offices or disappear for large parts of the day, meant to have 5 star catering but they give the chefs a budget of £10 per resident per day (for breakfast, 3 course lunch and 3 course dinner) so they buy from iceland.Manager doesnt understand support, the law, regulations, doesnt know how to train staff, has her favourite members based on personal opinion, is smug when dealing with complaints from family members, dismisses any concerns staff raise, is as useful as a chocolate teapot.Worst of all, care agencies and other homes know this manager to have a bad reputation.

Shinfield View care for my mum, I can not recommend them enough. The team are truly exceptional. The love and professional care she receives is amazing. She has fun, so many new experiences, she is loved, safe, cared for by a team that consider the residents their extended family.

I have been part of the staff team for the past year and can honestly say it’s the best place I’ve ever worked! Everyone cares for the residents no matter what role they are in, we all see them as part of our extended family. The management take good care of there staff and always puts the residents first no matter what. Honestly can’t praise them enough!

I have been a member of staff at Shinfield View for the past 15 months. It is a lovely place to work. The staff are highly trained and very knowledgeable. I’ve never seen anything like what’s been mentioned in previous comments going on in our home. If I had I’d have reported it. Our manager is really nice and I find her very approachable. If u need her her door is always open. If u are doing your job correctly then there is no problem. On many occasions she has asked to see me just to pass on a ‘well done or good job’. A thank u goes along way. A lot of spitefull people out there.

My sister has dementia and moved to Shinfield View in March. This was based on a very positive recommendation from a family friend.I have been really impressed by the professionalism of the staff and the care and concern they have showed my sister. She looks well, is treated with affection and respect. I could not ask for more

There is something that Shinfield View offers residents and their families which is very hard to pin down. There are other Care Homes with beautiful surroundings and luxurious bedrooms. There are other homes with well trained, efficient staff, excellent food, interesting activities. There are other care homes with shiny brochures and a professional sales pitch. But what is it that I find in abundance at Shinfield View that I have not seen in many other places? It is love - pure and simple. The love comes from the top and filters down. The fact that Shinfield View employs more than the standard ratio of staff to residents, and pays them above the standard rates, speaks of love before profit. This allows staff time to spend with residents who may be distressed, or need the connection; staff who are not constantly overworked can take the time to get to know, and love, the people in their care. And they do. Staff who are treated like family, in their turn welcome in the families of the residents not as demanding irritants disrupting the smooth running of an institution, but as family and as partners in care. Love is not something that can be measured, but it can be felt, by staff, residents and their families. The pandemic has shaken the foundations of the home: the need to safeguard the community from infection has meant that families have been shut out from our loved ones and from the community that we enjoyed. Efficiency has been prioritised over partnership and health and safety over connection, but as we slowly emerge I can see that love has not been driven out, but has persisted under the most difficult circumstances and I look forward to a return to family, community and care at its best.
