Couldn't say enough great things about the Bridgend Hotel or its Staff. The lady that carried up our bags wouldn't even take a tip.Great location, great food and the full Sottish breadfast, yummy. The island of Islay is certainly worth visiting, lots of non-sotch tour things to do on the island.

Reviewing this here as well as we both stayed and dined here.Rooms were well-appointed, comfortable and warm. Wifi, hot water and all the amenities worked perfectly.Breakfast was expansive, generously portioned and all around delicious with a broad spread of pastries, yogurt, granola and fruit, plus cooked options. A perfect way to ensure one has an adequate foundation to undertake numerous distillery tours.Lunch was a wisely tight menu focusing on quick options, which was perfect for a quick pit stop in between distillery tours. We opted for the soups each time (and I learned what a Cullen skink was - to be clear, it was not a lizard) which were hearty and enjoyable.Dinner features a more extensive menu focusing on local ingredients. Their fish and chips was phenomenal as were the langoustines and lamb. The earl grey crème brûlée was also exquisite.Staff were lovely and attentive without hovering. We will certainly be back on our next visit to Islay.

We had a lovely stay at the inn as well as a great dinner. First, the accommodations at the inn are spacious, clean, and nicely designed. Everything about our stay was excellent and comfortable. The breakfast menu had multiple options and the food was good. This was probably our favorite inn of our trip. The restaurant and pub are also good, which is why they’re very busy. As others have mentioned, it can be loud and the service was slow at times but that’s how it is on busy nights in the peak of vacation season. The food was worth the wait! The whiskey bar is also worth a stop, it’s extensive and includes multiple offerings of Octomore, which is more than the distillery provides. We would absolutely stay here again!

This is a perfect spot for lunch on Islay. Not far from bowmore it's worth the trip. Menus are excellent and the service is first class. Premises is always spotless and plenty of parking. The Bridgend has a couple of rooms for food and the tables are nicely spaced and feels private even when busy. Been a few times now and am always impressed with the food. If your looking for something different and a break from the distilleries for an hour, make a trip to the Bridgend. You won't be disappointed

Stopped here previously and had a fabulous longistine salad, this visit decided to stay. It just out of bowmore which is good as that is predominantly full of American tourists, so here has a more chilled atmosphere. Also this hotel has a decent sized car park.Rooms are decent, maybe the grout could do with some attention in the low season. But, the most powerful shower I think I have ever had, just the tonic after a 3am start to get ferry to island. Hotel rooms are expensive especially on a saturday, but that is just Islay it seems.... Even in low season.Food again has not let me down. Extensive menu all well cooked. And even the burgers (not a burger man) had a twist to bring them up a level.Breakfast was one of champions. There is the bar, then a more comfy seat bar area and a restaurant. Excellent service from all I spoke with in hotel.Would I come back if visiting the island? .... It would probably be my first choice.

To me: best area to stay on Islay. All places on the island can be reached in 30 minutes or less by car. Clean bathroom, fantastic water pressure. Very good breakfast, especially the number of choices in the cooked breakfast section

Friendly, welcoming staff. Delicious ploughman's lunch at a very reasonable price. Homemade soup and fruit crumble all beautifully prepared and cooked.

Lovely hotel to stay at, plenty on offer from the bar and the menu. Staff are lovely and nothing too much. We'll worth a stay whilst on the Island.
