The Pig - at Bridge Place
It's a beautiful hotel and gorgeous grounds, we stayed in a lovely Hop Pickers’ Hut.Unfortunately, a couple of things let it down a bit. We booked to stay as it was my birthday and also our five-year anniversary. Arrival was lovely, and the staff was very accommodating. When shown to our room, we were told the fire was ready to go. Unfortunately, there were no firelighters, so we spent a long while trying to light it to no avail. I called to ask for someone to come and help; he was shocked we had no firelighters or kindle as such. He managed to get it going, but it went out pretty quickly after he left. Bit disappointing! For context, we're not absolute novices with a fire! Our biggest disappointment was dinner. It just wasn't that good at all. I appreciate that the food is locally grown, sourced, etc, but it wasn't good.It really felt like they'd cooked a lot of it and kept it under a heat lamp so it was ready to go out as quickly as possible; everything that was supposed to be crispy came out limp and tasteless. It genuinely felt like a real disservice to whoever spent all of their time growing the food we ate.Breakfast the next morning was a lot better, all of the locally sourced pastries, fruit etc were lovely.

Went here for an anniversary dinner with my husband. The staff and service were excellent and very friendly. The food was lovely and they have an interesting selection on the menu of locally sourced products, they also grow most of their own veg and herbs etc. The building is interesting and a walk around the house and grounds is recommended. Nice place. A little pricey but well worth it for the quality and service.

Our stay for one night at The Pig was just wonderful! From the service to the food to the small finishing touches, they really go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed! It's well worth the price. And don't miss the breakfast, it was our favorite part, fresh bread with fresh home made salted butter was to die for.

We’ve just finished a weekend at The Pig Bridge Place and we are so sad to be leaving! We visited as a family of four (including two kids) and had Lodge 2 which had plenty of room for us all. The lodge was set up to be very welcoming - lots of yummy essentials on the house (E.g. milk, eggs, cheese, butter) and some freshly basked cookies. I’d also ordered some English sparkling wine as we were celebrating our 10 year anniversary, and that was chilling on ice ready for us, with a little message from the staff which was very thoughtful. The bathrooms were amazing, incredible massive bath and lovely toiletries, robes etc.We ate in the restaurant both nights and were made to feel very welcome. It’s understated farmhouse luxury; no need to dress fancy and kids were welcomed. Food was of course absolutely delicious. We had breakfast buffet one morning and it was incredible - so much delicious choice. Granola and pastries were so good.Staff were so helpful the whole time. They recommend some local walks - we did the circular 3.2m and got extremely wet but still enjoyable way to see the countryside. Also nice to walk through the kitchen garden and see all the veg that the Pig grows.Such a treat to spend the weekend here. Obviously it’s expensive but you definitely get what you pay for.

Had a meal here to celebrate 2 birthdays. It was absolutely incredible & we left feeling rested & rejuvenated! Our waitress; Maggie was incredible! The Pig is lucky to have her. From her attention to tiny details, offering to hang our coats, informing us of the study where we could take our desserts, she was wonderful! Will be back very soon, what a way to spend a Sunday. We stayed

Outstanding weekend spent at The Pig for our first visit. Everything from the food, which was excellent, fresh and beautifully prepared to the rooms which are heavenly. The Pig delivers on all front. The only improvement I would make would be to add more lighting in the car park and outdoor entrance as it’s completely dark and requires you to use your phone as light.

We came here to the restaurant for a birthday lunch and loved the hotel, grounds and food. Great atmosphere in the restaurant too, even though we came for quite a late lunch on a Friday (around 15h). The food was nice, we shared the parsnips with blue cheese as a starter, in my opinion there wasn't enough blue cheese there, I could rarely taste it. For mains we had the venison meatballs and the steak, both were quite nice. For dessert we shared the chocolate terrine which was super smooth and divine. A great collection of wines too.

It's an absolutely glorious hotel, set in a very peaceful part of Kent. Our room was huge and just perfect for our stay. The staff are casual but very attentive. They did not make a huge song and dance" when they discovered that it was our pearl wedding anniversary celebrations

Incredible experience today at The Pig. The service was absolutely amazing from Maggie, she took us to have dessert and coffee upstairs by the log burner. Time seem to stand still. After feeling so relaxed and welcomed, being surrounded by exquisite furnishings, we peeled ourselves away. The Pig is a destination that we’ll certainly return to for an overnight experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ without any doubt.

Went to Sunday lunch and wasn’t sure if they served roast since it wasn’t on the menu online and reviews didn’t really confirm - turns out they do! It’s not on the menu, the server tells you the roast specials. Was a lovely atmosphere but had to flag down server to ask if we could order since we were waiting for quite a while. We had beef and pork roast and the pork definitely was the winner with beautiful juicy meat and crackling. Would love to go back in the summer to enjoy the grounds!
