This hotel was great. The room was very clean and cozy. The bed was comfortable. Shower was great. They even had AC which is rare in England. I would definitely stay here again. The hotel bar was great and even had a shuffle board game to play. It's in a great location too. Walking distance to tons of restaurants.

We got married in York and chose to stay at the DoubleTree during that weekend. The room was more spacious than what we could see in the pictures, perfect for us to get ready. We took our senior dog with us who can't go up any steps, the staff were great about it and gave us a key for a special lift that took us right next to our room on the third floor. They also provided a comfortable bed for him and a water bowl. The location was perfect as it was just a couple of blocks away from our venue. It was a very hot weekend and the air con was very useful. I would gladly stay here again :)

Service was mostly good although it was poor that we had booked 4 rooms .... paying over £700 for one night and one of the rooms wasn't ready. Plus you have to pay extra for parking with only a handful of spaces available plus you pay for the privelidge IF you can get a space.... none of our party could.Brilliant location. We had deluxe rooms, bed was lovely but plumbing from neighbouring rooms was noisy.Breakfast was good and so were bar staff.

Hilton Hotels needs to get better pillows and better shower systems. They are lacking behind Travelodge atm.The room and bathroom were okay, clean, but stuffy. The air con unite you see in the picture didn't work. 2 oil portable heater provided, thankfully. I guess for a night it's okay. Location wise, it's good close to restaurants, pubs, and attractions. 15-minute walk from the station.

A huge thanks to the person who checked our cycling party in on Tuesday evening. She couldn't have been more helpful, sorting out all the room keycards in one go, secure storage for the bikes and helping me with parking the van.It is brilliantly situated for walking into York centre being just outside the walls, the other staff were just as friendly. The rooms were lovely, just as you would expect for this class of hotel but some of the fittings were showing their age. Breakfast was standard hotel buffet and again the staff were very attentive.

We had a small 'duplex' room in the courtyard outbuildings. A comfortable room in a great location for walking in to York. The room was in a re-purposed old building so wasn't standard Hilton. It could use a bit of maintenance, hence 4 stars.Recommend parking in the nearby 'monks bar' local authority car park, a 5 minute walk away, if the hotel spaces are taken. £20 for 24 hours - standard for York.A few points to balance out poor reviews from others: -1. Lack of parking. There are more spaces than visible from the street. Not bad for city centre. Plenty of other options locally too.2. No tea and coffee in the room. Yes there is - open the cupboard.3. Couldn't get aircon to work. It's under the desk. Point the remote at the unit, it's fine.4. Scruffy mirror. It's the style, nothing wrong with it. Fits with the old building.5. Small room, odd layout. It's in a re-purposed old building in the heart of a historic city. Don't expect the big rectangular room of an airport Hilton, but it's still a good room.We had a great stay, the staff were very helpful and welcoming. Would recommend for visiting Central York.

Really nice hotel. The staff was very attentive and you can get anything you wanted, all you had to do was ask. The view out my window wasn't so great. The location was fantastic, close to mostly anything you would like to see/do.

I decided to visit the wonderful York for a couple of days so an overnight stay was in order. After looking around the Double tree seemed a good option. The location is very good as it's within easy reach of the city, reasonable parking is nearby. There is also a good sized Sainsbury's a short walk away for any supplies.Upon arrival I was greeted multiple times by extremely friendly staff, but on seeing a couch had just arrived I was prepared for a bit of a wait. After dealing with the 3 people in front of me promptly (two shouldn't have even been bothering the receptionist as they merely had to wait as instructed ) I was not only informed my room was ready but also I had been upgraded for free. The room was really nice and lots of room for myself and would be very comfortable for more. All the amenities were great and as expected. One downside and it seems pretty common in busy hotels is that the bathroom looked a bit tired and beaten, but still was more than adequate.Only small issues I had was that the rooms seem to have rather squeaky floors, and on occasions I could hear other rooms stomping about. The other issue was my room was situated next to a main road, and the odd boy racer with loud exhaust and sound system would drive by, but honestly it's not the hotels fault just be aware.I didn't have a chance to use any of the other facilities, but overall it was very well presented, clean ,and all staff are very welcoming and friendly. If visiting York again I would definitely think about using again.

Great location, only a few minutes walk and you are by the York Minster. Comfortable room, clean hotel, pleasant and friendly staff. Breakfast was great on the Friday but was very busy on the Saturday with a lot more guests. The breakfast was expensive considering they ran out of a lot of breakfast items even with an hour and half of service left. I would stay again but go elsewhere for breakfast. A great bar with lovely food if you decide to dine in instead of going out. Please be mindful it is £20 to park your car overnight. Other car parks are just as pricey to be fair.

Right in the centre of York. Close to everything.I expected the rooms to be better. Bed was uncomfortable, and I didn't sleep great. One of the light bulbs over the bed was out, and the bulb in the shaving mirror was out. It sounds picky, but for the high price we paid for one night, you expect everything to be right.Bar is nice, and they had an excellent singer playing (unfortunately, I do not know his name). I stayed on Friday the 15.12.2023.One site parking is limited. Parking is available at a car park about two hundred yards up the road. 24-hour stay cost £18.00.Breakfast was standard. Again, I expected better. Would I stay again. Not if I can find another hotel in the city.
