Thompsons Arms
Visited York for the day and was visting Flamingo Land the next. We would this place to be about halfway between both and a much better price than York city centre. A very nice ,cozy B&B with a great little pub on the ground level. We had a great time playing darts, having a few cheap drinks, and talking some of the locals. Breakfast was delicious, highly reccomended.

Loved it here. It was like home from home. Thewonderful people Lili & Stuart who run the pub and the excellent accommodation...we highly recommend staying here if you need to be in the area.Couldn't fault anything and like I say the hosts were the best. Lili even dropped us off and picked us up later after being to a wedding reception at Sandburn Hall. Breakfast was excellent. Ideal spot for a base to discover surrounding areas...JDG(Duncan & Mary) ps loved the dogs...

Lovely little cottage. Stuart is a great host and made us feel very welcome. Would absolutely recommend if you're attending an event at Sandburn Hall, or visiting York.

I stayed here for one night and me and my wife enjoyed it and had a great stay.A lovely picturesque place with no noise and parking available.The owners were very friendly and helpful.The room was very clean with enough space and the bed was comfortable and I slept well.Nice little pub as well with nice people inside.

Left a standard review on the site we booked. Management replied with a very defensive yet personal attack of a reply. Need to take feedback better rather than make comments about their guests.Clearly left a coat there and when contacting them the manager brought up the review and denied having my jacket.Very petty.

Best B&B we have stayed in, Breakfast was a proper English breakfast , bed was so comfy and clean, as was en suite. Would recommend this pub, could not find a single fault. Thank you for a lovely staythis.

A fantastic stay at the Thompson Arms. The owners Lili and Stuart could not be more helpful and made our stay a perfect one! The cottage was perfect and clean and very cosy. We wanted to stay longer! Breakfast was amazing and everything was set up and ready for us coming in the morning. Everything you could ask for! We will definitely be returning! Thank you to you both!

Absolutely loved our night away here. We booked 2 rooms to accommodate 2 adults and 3 children. The rooms were perfect, clean and comfortable. Idyllic country pub with well stocked bar, pool table and dart board.The owners were very friendly and welcoming.We would definitely stay here againThank you

Brilliant find! We stayed one night whilst attending a wedding at Sandburn Hall and we had a great stay! The owner, Stuart, was really helpful and made our trip seamless, right from checking in, to getting to and from the wedding venue which was a huge help! We stayed in one of the cottages which was cosy, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. We had breakfast in the pub the following morning and it was fantastic! Great value and delicious food. We would not hesitate to stay again. Thank you Stuart!
