Hotel Café Royal

Came here for afternoon tea with my grandparents, mum and sister. I have been to several high end afternoon tea's in London and would definitely recommend this as the best. The totally indulgent decor, amazing service, and perfect location really make you feel like you're experiencing something very special. The food is divine, and the tea selection is perfect.

Our stay at the Hotel was more than amazing. Every member from the staff from housekeeping till front desk was so friendly, helpful and truly amazing. Best 5 star service I’ve experienced in a while.Stay here when you are in London. Highly can recommend

Thanks a lot to all the staff of the Hotel Cafe Royal.The hotel has a perfect location in the middle of the city centre of London, but it is amazingly very quiet. The people are all nice, the room was nicely decorated and super clean. The SPA and swimming pool are an oasis of calmness in the middle of the business of London (unfortunately the time restrictions for the families). Breakfast is good.

A nice hotel, but found it lacking as a 5-star hotel (compared to other 5-stars). Would recommend with certain expectations below.Pro: Hotel is ideally located centrally to all the tourist attractions. Adjacent to groceries, top restaurants, and some shopping. Major high-end shopping would need to walk 10 minutes.Cons:Hotel lacks ambient light, but likely due to location. It is nicely decorated.Room style is average for a 5-star, more in line with a 4 star. Operations for room lights and shades are very odd. Not intuitive or easy.Spa is average. Spacious pool. Small dry sauna/whirlpool though.Service is lacking. Had to ask for twice for many things. Added optional 10% service charge upon check-out, which I thought was tasteless.Breakfast was good but not limited in variety. I would be upset if I had to pay separately.

We had a charming after tea here! Such a top-roof level place, great food, fantastic history and my lovely family! We all experienced a beautiful 2 hours like reading a time-honored story.

If I could rate The Hotel Café Royal 10/5 I would! I went to the Oscar Wilde room in order to celebrate a birthday.We had Champaign afternoon tea and the staff made sure our every need was attended to.From the moment you step foot outside, there is someone to take care of you from the doormen, concierge to the waiters/ waitresses.The food and drink selection was superlative! I had the Oscar Wilde blend for tea and it came out blue, which then changed colour as I added some lemon juice to it!The building itself is steeped in history and has a few marks to prove it! Although all the stories add to the character of the room!Truly an experience I won’t forget and I can’t wait to go back!

Terrible front desk in the lobby!It was impossible to catch a cab late in the evening. I wanted to leave at around 11:30pm after a late dinner & some drink at the Green Bar. I asked the front desk at the lobby to get me a cab, I waited for 45 minutes with, no one followed up! The lobby & valet was completely empty. They made me sit in the lobby waiting like an utter moron.

Returning to this place to celebrate our wedding anniversary seems to have become our tradition. Yesterday at noon, we met the manager of the restaurant and the service was very professional and great! I highly recommend this beautiful afternoon tea restaurant. Will definitely come back!

Such a beautiful hotel in the heart of London. Close to everything and sitting right on top of the Piccadilly Circus tube line, you couldn't ask for a better location. A visit to the Akasha spa is a must! The spa supervisors George & Daniela are so kind, professional and helpful. I booked a 2 hour Hammam ritual with Victoria that was out of this world, highly recommended! Also, a big thank you to Ricardo on the front desk, upon arrival I have never felt so taken care of in the tour he provided of the whole hotel. He took so much pride in showing me around. Lastly, to David the bellhop who helped me a few times with all my luggage without even asking - he just knew. Excellent service, excellent staff and excellent amenities all round! Thank you to all of the amazing team members at Cafe Royal.
