It was a difficult one to rate. The rooms are clean, the service was great, the breakfast was really good. But the family room was small (2 adults, 2 teenagers) and it's basically a service station on the A1. Great for driving conveniently to Bamburgh, Alnwick, holy island, seahouses but no where near to walk to. The views say it all, out of the back of the hotel you have fields and you can see bamburgh castle in the distance on a clear day. The front is a busy road. It's great value for money in a place where some hotels are overpriced.

Didn't use a room so cannot comment. Food however is excellent and (I think) all cooked on site. It is dog friendly and very conveniently situated about 90 minutes south of Edinburgh.

Good location on side of the road. Was passing from Berwick so popped in for breakfast before the journey back to Plymouth. Lovely and clean restaurant and good looking menu and looked reasonably priced. Ordered the big breakfast and must say it looked well presented on arrival and it was bigger than I expected. Unfortunately it looked nice but it wasn't as good as it looked. The sausages were hot, bacon, black pudding and eggs were lukewarm, fried bread could of done with cooking a bit longer, mushrooms were cold and the beans were stone cold as if they came straight from the fridge. Unfortunately I had to leave practically everything apart from the sausages. There was 4 of us and we all felt the same so maybe we were unlucky today but we won't use it next time we are passing through.

Handy location on the A1, we called in looking for a Sunday lunch, so glad we did! I had roast Pork, wife and mother in law had beef, very tasty well cooked food with generous but not too large portions. We will be back.

Excellent location for exploring Northumberland, right on the A1. Rooms are basic but comfy and clean, and the staff were amazing. Everyone we spoke to during our stay was so helpful and friendly, really made us feel welcome. Lots of car parking spaces, bar is open until about 22:30 with the 24 hour cafe next door. The services it is somewhat a part of has proper petrol station with a good sized shop as well.

Great stopover location right on the A1. Surprisingly we heard very little noise from road overnight and would definitely stay again! Room was spotless!Stayed with our dog and all staff were really friendly. They even went as far as to ask if he wanted a sausage at breakfast. For breakfast we all had a full English and it was delicious!Couldn't fault it. Cost £85 for 1 night (3 people and a dog in family room, with breakfast included)

OK, so we didn't stay in a room but saw a couple arriving with their dog, so they have some dog friendly rooms! However, we did have the nicest Sunday lunch there, sat in the dog friendly area. My mum likes her veg soft (over cooked) and the chef was very accommodating (thank you). Mum & I had the roast beef, husband had the roast pork. We were all delighted with our lunch. Apple crumble was also consumed and was very nice too. All reasonably priced too, with lovely service. Worth a visit when travelling on the A1. This is the best food we've ever had on this road and we've travelled on it a lot.
