From the moment I reached out to Brunskill Family Funerals, everything was taken care of and handled exceptionally well. I'd initially contacted them via email following the death of a family member who didn't have a funeral plan in place seeking guidance about where to start with everything and what I needed to do. Ed quickly got back to me outlining the process and setting up a time for a call to talk through things properly.Throughout the whole process I dealt with Ed and he was always on call whenever I needed anything or to answer my (many!) questions, even at all hours of the day. He went above and beyond in dealing with my queries and was very kind, caring and compassionate, dealing with everything with great sensitivity. The whole process was made as easy as it could be thanks to Ed and his team. It was also a refreshing change to just how compassionate they were at Brunskill's. I'd recently gone through a similar process with the funeral for my Grandad - however, he had a funeral plan with a larger company and the experience with them was completely different from that at Brunskill's - it was cold and business-like just trying to get whatever upgrades they could. In comparison to at Brunskill's, when I met Ed, he was very personable and I always felt he took the time to listen to what we wanted and that he cared that everything was done just as we'd asked. Their funeral parlour was lovely, as was the warm welcome and a hot drink while the various options were discussed but never did he try to persuade you into any unnecessary upgrades and instead just took a very down-to-earth and human approach to things.On the day of the funeral, everything went as smoothly as it could have (other than, there was an issue with the flowers which was a shame as we had gone with a florist recommended by Brunskill's, but the actual problem was not Ed/or his teams' fault at all), Ed and his team were all great and it was comforting to have a friendly face to greet us. I am very grateful for the work of Ed, and although funeral services are something you never want to have to recommend... I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ed and his team. I really cannot put into words how grateful I am to Ed and the team at Brunskill Family Funerals. Right from the start, Ed was just amazing and so compassionate. He took care of all the arrangements and provided some useful information for the funeral such as ideas for poems, readings, music and also humanist recommendations. Ed and his family firm were the most compassionate, efficient and thoughtful I could imagine a funeral director company being. Ed knew the church staff, the visiting vicar we wanted and was able to add a personal touch at every step of the way for what ended up being a very moving and special day we will never forget. They are caring and attentive, as well as very clear on the process and costs.I found at no point were they out of contact or difficult to communicate with, they also cared deeply about ensuring the funeral went as best it could for the attendants.A great deal of respect was shown to my late father. During one of the most difficult times, Ed Brunskill ensured that the funeral not only went as well as possible but also that the burden of organisation on myself was as little as possible, which was an immense help.I have not dealt with any business or person on a professional level that I feel has been better than this, as such I feel 5 stars falls short of the reality as Brunskill Family Funerals were, in a word, perfect. Ed Brunskill handled my late mother's funeral in February 2020. He and his team were simply amazing.
