Poets House Hotel and Restaurant

My partner and I got married at poets house Ely earlier this year, the whole team were so professional and the day went so well, thanks to all their hard work. The location is beautiful, I would highly recommend this venue for weddings and special occasions.

Very poor service in the bar area. Staff made no attempt to come over to take drinks order, although we were the only ones in the bar. They seemed more interested in having a laugh & conversation between themselves. Also, I had to go to the bar again to ask for the bill. No eye contact was made throughout the whole time we sat in the bar. Also, there is no toilet paper in 2 of the ladies' cubicles. We decided to move on somewhere else as a result of the service. It's such a shame as it is a beautiful place.

I came here for an anniversary dinner with my lovely wife. The service was good and the drinks great, but the main meal took an age to arrive, with only one other diner in the restaurant........Over 50 minutes after sitting down for food isn't great. My wife's dinner was piping hot, but mine was lukewarm. I inhaled it all, but we didn't stay for dessert or coffee. Such a shame.

My partner Sarah and I had our wedding reception here in June 2023. Christine and the team were brilliant in supporting our celebration. The venue was also very accessible for my mum who uses an electric wheelchair.10/10 service. Thank you.

We got married here two weeks ago. The staff and manager Christine were amazing.Great communication, nothing was too much for them.On the day they got the right balance of making sure we had everything with also giving us space.The food and room was also excellent.Thank you so much

Just had our daughters wedding here on Friday and the day was amazing. Hotel did us proud the food was amazing the staff could not do enough for us and the lady who helped our daughter plan her wedding went above and beyond to make her day as special as it was. The Hotel and rooms are beautiful and would recommend this Hotel for a wedding a stay or just a drink and a meal would come back again and again for meal and drink. Thank you all for everything you did for us and we will never forget our daughters perfect wedding day

We had a superb afternoon tea. The location is easy to find and the whole ambience of the place was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. It's certainly somewhere we might like to stay for a weekend or longer and we will definitely be back.

Our special day was tailor made for us at this wonderful venue. From the moment we walked in we felt warm and welcomed. The entire team made us feel at ease with any request and always a smile to be seen. Amazing people and an amazing hotel. Thank you Poets House.
