Visit Skye - An Clamhan (Self Catering For Two, Colbost, Dunvegan, Skye)

A 7-Star Gem !Stunning location in a magnificent property with facilities to exceed your expectations ! Very warm and personal check-in with hosts Caron / Iain who have created this experience and deserve all the superb reviews they have received. Credit to you both. Set the alarm if you’re not early risers because the sunrises can be spectacular.

We were lucky enough to spend 3 nights at An Clamhan in September 2019 and had the most fabulous stay. The property is a extremely high standard with high quality all fixtures and fittings, it has a very homely and welcoming feel as you enter. We were welcomed by the lovely owners and provided with a very generous welcome pack of provisions which was really helpful for our arrival.The kitchen is brilliantly equipped with everything you could need for self catering including a superb oven/microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and Nespresso machine (fab for us as coffee lovers!). There is also a washing machine, which we didn't use, but I'm sure we would on a longer stay. The living area is beautiful, with 2 comfortable sofas and floor to ceiling windows where you can watch the stunning sunrise and sunsets over the Loch across from the house, there is even a fabulous telescope from which we saw the local seals relaxing on rocks in the Loch from (a particular highlight for us!) We also enjoyed use of the log burner in the evenings which added to the cosy feel of the property.The bedroom is large and has a superb hanging unit and plenty of space for your belongings. The bed is a super king and the most comfortable mattress and linens we have ever slept on! Watching the sunrise from the bed was another highlight for us.The bathroom is stunning and the shower is excellent, lovely hot showers after a long, wet walk!The location of the property is great for getting out and about across Skye. Dunvegan is about a 12 minute drive and has a shop with all the provisions you will need and also the Old School restaurant where we had a wonderful meal and would highly recommend. We would also recommend a meal at The Three Chimneys restaurant, next door to the property, where you can have a taste of seafood straight from the Loch in front of you, 5 star food!We can't recommend this property enough, it is definitely 5 star and a great place to stay when visiting Skye. It is a very high quality property, luxurious with a homely feel and the owners were very helpful and welcoming. We will definitely be booking to stay here again next year.

The grounds are breathtaking, the house is beautifully appointed and cozy, our hosts were gracious and lovely to chat with- we couldn't be happier with our stay.

Wow - we had an incredible stay and an clamhan was by far the best place we stayed in Scotland. The bed is very comfortable and we slept great. the owners stocked the house with a ton of food. They went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. We were traveling with a group and everyone wanted to hang out at our place. Will absolutely stay here again

Nestled in a woodland setting and overlooking seals at play at Loch Dunvegan, this retreat was a spendid find.Owners Iain and Caron Houston have made sure that every need and comfort was catered for - and much more! It is immaculate and tasteful in design - supplying good reading material, telescope and every kitchen utensil!If you can bear to leave, Three Chimneys is along the road . An Clamhan is the perfect base for exploring the Isle of Skye.We loved it- and will return !

This is a real gem of a place to stay. The location offers some spectacular views while being surrounded by trees and greenery. The cabin is modern, well presented and spacious. The bed is large and very comfortable, giving you a great nights sleep after a day of hiking or sightseeing. Caron and Iain are lovely, welcoming people who clearly want to offer a great experience to all their visitors. Highly recommended.

We recently stayed here for three nights - we were blown away. Caron and Iain are lovely hosts and so thoughtful. They stocked the kitchen with a very nice hamper, explained everything to us and gave us brilliant tips what to look out for on Skye. Caron recommended an app for auroras and we managed to see one, even if it was not as bright. We would happily come back. We very much enjoyed the tranquility of the place.The house is fitted with very high-end and sustainable amenities of all sorts. We felt right at home.

A beautiful house, with so many nice personal touches. Owners gave us a great welcome, and left some lovely supplies. The view over the loch is great and we were lucky enough to see the seals hauled out on the opposite side, thanks to the telescope a nice idea. Had a great stay.
