Hampton Manor

We attended a friends wedding here and thought the venue was amazing. The onsite catering was delicious and the wait staff were extremely friendly and professional. It's a very picturesque location full of lush greens.

5 star dining. 1 star hotel.The food is wonderful. The restaurant staff and chef worthy of their reputation. The hotel meanwhile is poor. On arrival greeted by faulty credit card machines, not a big deal, but staff reluctant to check us in unless they could charge £1 first and insisted we come back before we order a drink at the bar.Arrived in the room, dead flies lying on the carpet, tired flies buzzing around. Far from luxurious.After dinner realised the duvet and pillows were feather and asked for synthetic replacements - these were provided with the comment “you could have asked us earlier”.Next day, room not serviced all day which is poor but prepared to overlook the oversight and asked them at 7pm to make up the room as we headed for dinner - no problem sir, leave it with us.Returned after dinner to an unmade bed, bathroom still not tidied. Spoke to the same staff member I had specifically asked before dinner - “oh it should have happened”. Yes I agree, it should have happened but didn’t. “What would you like us to do”. At 10.45pm I would have liked you have used any part of the last 12 hours to provide basic services of any hotel, let alone one seeking to position itself as a premium experience.Poor hotel service. Poor staff attitude.Come for the food but avoid the hotel.

The blind menu dealt some lovely dishes, but at £110 a head, it could have been better.The smaller items like the crab with apple amuse bouche and trout with golden beetroot starter were very tasty, and the scallop especially, but the beef tartare lacked depth and oomph and had a poor texture.Most of the presentation was good, even eye-catching.Service was delightful, friendly, and helpful.Wines were good quality but extremely expensive. I was particularly disappointed to be served only 125ml of Rioja at £9 a glass. Stingy is the word I'm looking for...

Incredible venue, the service was top notch and the staff were impeccable. The grounds are maintained beautifully and a great backdrop to any pictures. All of the staff were friendly and attentive throughout the day. The food was sublime and they made sure everything ran smoothly at all times. I didn't stay overnight so didn't experience the rooms.

Not really sure how they got 5*. Service isn’t pretentious, it’s just rude and not very attentive. Food was dog poop, considering we were considering out wedding here you think they would make an effort. Pretty but no substance. And perfect if you enjoy watching budget Airlines fly over you to Birmingham airport. Def not having wedding here

Superb two night stay at Hampton Manor. Great service, food and room. Shout out to Max, who was excellent going through the wine tasting and tour of the estate.

A really fantastic experience, the taster menu in Grace and savour was outstanding, with wine carefully chosen to complement the dishes.The informal atmosphere in smoked restaurant was absolutely perfect for a romantic experience.The rooms were absolute perfection, literally every detail taken care of.Breakfast overlooking the beautiful walled garden was equally outstanding. Topped off by a walk around the beautiful grounds.I've stayed in a few 5 star hotels but this one is the best hands down. The staff, the food and the rooms cannot be beaten!

Me and my wife came here after we got married at Shustoke Barn in Coleshill.Despite arriving just at midnight, we were warmly greeted by a member of staff who opened the door for us and showed us up to our room. I didn’t get her name but it made us feel so welcomed a comfortable at the hotel.We got a free upgrade on our room (thank you). It was stunning, when we woke up it felt like we were living in a movie.The little touches also made our stay extra lovely. Both being musical people, we especially loved the vinyl player in one of the rooms on the ground floor. It was lovely to sit and listen to music whilst having a drink.We are already planning to return for our anniversary as it was a really special stay.

Absolutely beautiful hotel - attention to detail throughout is stunning. Room was immaculate - we were in the Henrietta Maria - a free upgrade, which we were thrilled with! Best bathroom I’ve ever seen in a hotel room - especially the skylight!

I stayed here whilst exhibiting at the NEC for a trade show for 2 nights. I travel a lot for business and often turn up in my 'tradey' outfit, which sometimes in 5 star accommodation like this can cause the staff to be a little.. snooty.However! This would most definitely not the case at all at Hampton Manor; from arrival to departure the staff were incredible. Friendly, helpful, professional. I cannot fault a single thing at this hotel, the room was lovely and the food even in the 'bar' was very nice.We didn't get a chance to try the two fancy restaurants on the grounds, such as Smoke, I wish we did as I've heard very good things.The grounds are beautiful in a very quiet forest (apart from the odd plane from Birmingham airport but that isn't so frequent at all). Very nice quaint building with very tasteful décor.100% would stay again, 100% recommend for business or pleasure.
