Wortley Post Office and Stores

Wortley Post Office and General Stores is run by a really nice couple and has a good range of products available apart from the Post Office side of the business.Bottle of wine or a beer for the evening? A nice bit of cake? A magazine or postcard... This place could save you a supermarket run if you're in the area. They even do firewood and kindling.Bike hire or repairs? This is the place!!We popped in a couple of times while staying in the area for a few days. The first time for local postcards to send to our grandchildren in the States and the second for some supplies & goodies. We ended up having quite a chat.Did I say they also run the B&B next door? Well, they do!! Well worth calling in. They have far more than you'd expect and we all need to support our village shops, don't we??

Only take cash for scratchcards!!! Sounds dodgy to me, blonde lady has a communication problem aswel,The staff along the road at Thurgoland village will always get my money and praise from now on.
