Charnwood Country Residence

It's a great care home for the elderly,the staff are excellent in their work and very friendly. They even offer you a cup of tea or coffee when you are visiting.

My previous review of Charnwood House was based on hearsay from my elderly friends who, having only recently moved in, were not in a good place after leaving their home where they had spent very many happy years together. I have discussed their problems with them and with management at Charnwood and now realise that every effort is being made to make them as happy and as comfortable as possible. I have witnessed the care they are receiving and the way the staff interact with them and would like to apologise to all concerned especially Angela who has gone the extra mile for their benefit. Thank you all.

Extremely disappointed with the service we have seen from this care home. Showed around care home for mother in law to visit in order for father in law to have a day respite.Initially told on two occasions that respite was from 8.30 am until 5, then told after 2 weeks that we were wrongly informed as its only 10-4. Told and showed on out tour before mother in law started her weekly visits that mother in law could have bath while there. It now transpires that we had mis informed again. Do wonder what type of management is running this care home when the staff dont actually know whats going on within it!!

My mum passed away a few months ago (not from the Covid-19 virus). She was 95 years of age. My family and I could not have wished for more at Charnwood. The care was outstanding. All members of staff care for residents as though they are family. The home is very clean with fresh flowers everywhere. Food is very good and residents can have a sherry before lunch. Activities were amazing and we sometimes joined in the singing. Mum could not have had better care anywhere else. We are all very grateful and send our warmest wishes.

The previous review is rubbish. The staff are excellent and enormously caring - and I visit very, very often. I recommend Charnwood.
