I've used James for a couple years since he first started and I regularly get my guitars and basses restrung and set up here. He is super-friendly, and always happy to take the time to really listen to what the customer wants. He's also great a diagnosing problems, and offering solutions to suit your budget. Recently I bought a budget Squire bass that I loved the look of, but it sounded terrible. James installed a new pickup, new bridge, he levelled the frets and spent a good chunk of time adjusting the hardware and electronics to ensure the instrument played and sounded awesome. It's now my favourite bass to play, thanks to his advice and skills.

Called in today to salvage the attempt i made to solder in a humbucker to a strat to make a budget Tom Delonge. Was met with great service and price. It was a pleasure watching as the work was done quicker than it took me to look at at the wiring diagram and then make a mess off it.Work was done to a great price and was honestly one of the best customer experiences I have had. Highly recommend and I will be back for sure.

Dropped in a guitar to get it tour ready and after finding high frets and giving some great advise on the right string guage and tunings it's ready to go!Brilliant service, even dropped off the guitar once done!

Fantastic little place, James and his co star were very polite and made my set up feel like a totally different instrument altogether at a good price too, I’m kinda socially awkward and probably appeared nervous as I’m not all that knowledgable about guitars generally.It was done for the next day and the adjustments they made were worth every penny. I’ll be going there quite frequently in future. Wether you’re just starting out or a professional player I’d highly recommend James. Fantastic work, fantastic luthier.

James has done an amazing job replacing a broken volume pot and doing a full set up on my son’s Ibanez JS2450. Not only is is work impeccably good but he is a really nice genuine guy. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for guitar repairs or setups. His custom built guitars are incredible! I certainly will be using him from now on for all my guitar servicing.

James replaced pickups on one of my fave guitars and carried out a superb setup. Am absolutely delighted with the end result! Quality work at a great price. Will def be back and thoroughly recommend!

Quite simply the best guitar workshop and technician I've ever visited but most importantly, just the nicest guy you'll ever meet. Fair, honest and extremely skilled. If I moved 200miles away, I'd still come back to this shop on principle.

Was bought a beautiful Epiphone Les Paul, but had been having some teething issues that the seller was not (apparently) able to detect. Floyd Rose set up was rubbing on the internal cavity and after some adjustment at another guitar place nearly nicking the top of the guitar. Action was high. Some scratch from the tone pot too. James was great. Identified the Floyd problem straight away. Fret level and polish, restring, a quick squirt of cleaning fluid for the pot and all done, but fixing the collapsed bridge post was proper the best. The Floyd is level, action is great and my beauty is able to really rock again (shame I can't play it as well as it deserves). Great bloke and great service. Thoroughly recommend this company and their work.
