Wandered in seeking a Sunday roast and was the best I've had in years (and I eat a lot of roast dinners...)Beautiful decor and warm friendly service. Quieter than the bustling pubs around which was perfect for us.The beef was thick cut and cooked perfectly pink and soft. Delicious Yorkshire pudding with lots of gravy to soak up. The creamiest mash and lush mix of fresh / roasted veg.Delicious. Thanks. Highly recommend.My friend had the fish finger sandwich and looked great, very tasty salad and fries with it.

Love this hotel, the decor, the staff, the bars, the food are all greatWe stayed for 4 nights with our dog Mabel and she was treated like one of the familyPerfect location in the heart of Keswick

I'll start off with the positives. Upon arrival the young girl at reception was very professional and welcoming. My room ( room number 109 booked on the 6/6/2023) was clean and perfectly acceptable. Bar staff were brilliant too. Breakfast was OK, the poached egg was still raw (new egg was given to me) and the sausage felt like it had been left under a heater...... OK this is where the bad review starts. Attached to the outside wall of the hotel is an air conditioning unit. Every 5 minutes this thing kicks in and lasts for 2 minutes. It hums, rattles and whirls. This is really loud and kept me awake throughout the night. Looking out of the room window there are 2 air conditioning units. One is on the wall of the hotel (see pic) another is attached to the pub on the other wall. It is not the pubs unit making the noise, it's the hotel unit.... paying so much for a room, I expect a good night's sleep. if you are a light sleeper steer clear from this hotel. I did film the unit at 5 am this morning but I can't add video to the review.... it's a nice hotel but a decent night's sleep should be expected.

Quite simply the best place in Keswick to meet friends and have a bite to eat, and enjoy the sumptuous surroundings. What's not to like?

If I go to keswick, this the hotel i try to book first. It is definitely the best hotel in the area and the location is perfect right in the heart of the town. Limited parking in the garage is available for an extra fee but it is a little snug getting in and out. On this visit I had room 201 which I have to say is the smallest I have seen here, but it did have everything I needed and was nicely decorated. I do think it is worth spending extra for a larger room as it did detract from the experience but as this was a business trip cost takes precedence. Evening meal and breakfast were very tasty.Returned again Nov 2023, room 102, this is a single room but was a little larger than my last. Once again the food was fantastic and staff are always friendly.

Great welcome by friendly, professional staff and an unexpected Easter treat. Great location in the heart of Keswick. Room was perfect. Clean, modern, very comfortable bed, amazing shower and great view of Catbells. The Breakfast was excellent all locally sourced produce that tasted delicious. That, and thoughtfulness of the staff impressed me the most. I’ll definitely be returning.

Came here with my family after a lovely day of shopping and Louie served us. He was very attentive and we had a great time. 10/10 would come back :)

Turned up for a pint in the back bar drawn in by the prospect of karaoke on a Sunday 9pm. Ended up eating, getting a room and having a wicked time. Staff played me at pool while I waited for a mate. Made me feel welcome. Great atmosphere.Room was really nice and clean. They even gave me an early breakfast as I had to leave for work.Definitely visit again.

Our first visit to the Inn on the Square. The place is very nice, the staff are friendly. The food was excellent. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend.
