Bayswell Park Hotel & Restaurant

Lovely hotel. Room comfortable. Breakfast and service very good. I personally thought bar prices a bit expensive but it wouldn't prevent me returning.

Fantastic afternoon tea! Great variety of savoury and sweet treats and great service. Served in the conservatory with great sea views. Although very hot in there, they might need to get fan for thr summer.

Absolutely brilliant. Stunning views from restaurant and food was superb. Staff very young but excellent. Had hot tub room porch and the views again breathtaking . Beautiful walks right on your doorstep towards town or along the coast. Brilliant stay in a lovely old building.

Beautiful location overlooking the sea, rooms good size and clean,Breakfast was cooked perfectly and a good choice from the buffet ,staying due to work and will stay again

I had an amazing afternoon tea at the Bayswell Hotel last Thursday.The food was delicious; the sweets have been so good and the sandwiches so soft and rich.The presentation was like a 5* star HotelHighly recommended.

The hotel is in a perfect location for the town just 10 minute walk. And has lovely sea views and great sunsets and nice scenic walks. Staff are very nice and polite would have been nice if they had named badges so we new who we were talking to. Breakfast staff were very nice and breakfast was very goodNegative pointsThere is some refurbishment work going on in the hotel which we did not know about. It was not a problem it would have been nice to know before we had arrived.Positive points for roomWe stayed in room No 11 with excellent sea views from the room. Bathroom of a very high standard. Room was clean. Tea and coffee in room.Negative pointsThe finer details let's this room down needs a security chain or lock as there is not one on the inside of the door . For resident piece of mind would be a good ideaA round stain on the wall above the headboard.A old wardrobe which needs replacing.Peeling paint above dado rail in left corner of the room and around the bay windows.And two pull down blinds that have seen better days and one pull down blind missing. Plus heat stains on the writing desk where the tea and coffee are kept.The views from both the hotel and room are excellent I hope the room would be the same and yes we did inform the man on reception we were not happy.Would I come back?

I have given it 3stars because it is actually only a 3 star hotel and lives up to that rating. The staff were friendly and polite.our room was very cold, they got us a heater (didn't really help... not powerful enough but hey, it's 3 star not 5) . Food good- ample breakfast. Toast served hot and in a proper rack!

Friendly and accommodating staff. Breakfast was fabulous and the cliff top views amazing. Room was small, basic and with mis matched furnishings but it was clean and comfortable. Overall great value, would definitely stay again!

Stunning sea views, staff excellent, Deluxe room with four poster ,would highly recommend visiting this hotel with character, real history in this town. Stunning harbour and fantastic scenery and walking.

My experience here went from bad to great. We had booked a nice room through expedia, only to realize that the room we got wasn't the one we'd booked. They didn't advertise their less quality rooms. SO, if you're going to book here at all; book a hot tub suite. These are the only nice rooms in the entire hotel. Once we switched rooms, our stay was wonderful. I mean, as always it could have been cleaner, but the hot tub with the ocean view was a highlight.
