Sherwood Forest Crematorium

I have attended Sherwood crematorium today, and would love to leave a post. The gardens are absolutely amazing there were so many areas that were breath taking the lawn edges were perfect. The gardener responsible for these gardens is doing their work with such love and perfections. It was like visiting a formal state garden. Amazing. On arrival I asked the gentleman if we could say our goodbyes to our brother he was so helpful a massive THANKYOU to you. We appreciated your support.

No stars not possible so had to select one!!!. Dismal, dated decor, depressing, thankfully not where I will go from!!!! A cold winter's day but mourners not allowed in before the cortege, no previous funeral.

Pleasant setting, easy access, enough parking for small (100 mourners) chapel. Service ran very smoothly. We were very thankful.

Today I have collected my Dad's ashes from the Crematorium. I don't know what I was expecting but a little more empathy and dignity would have helped me through a very difficult experience. I have had better Customer Service at Argos. It was very methodical, and worrying at first when they couldn't get access to his ashes due to a meeting. Then I was asked his name again and they couldn't remember if they'd just seen the ID they'd been shown two minutes earlier. During the time I was stood there the team that work there were going through the door in a cheery group right next to the reception. I felt a little neglected. When the box with his ashes were put infront of me I was told. There aren't any bags here shall I go and find one?I said not to bother and left with tears in my eyesAll the dogs I have had cremated over the years have been returned to me with care and compassion in a beautiful bagready for collection. I am so disappointed and saddened by this experience. I hope my Dad was treated with the care and dignity he deserved before I got him back.
