The Corran Resort & Spa

Lovely lunch in the restaurant, we had two courses from the Sunday lunch menu and all four dishes were delicious. We used the spa and some small improvements could be made, like putting shampoo in the showers. The shower gel was almost finished too and the wet kit bags had run out. They weren't overly busy so could have checked these details more. All in a lovely day with gorgeous lunch and treatments. All the staff were really friendly and welcoming too.

This was a Christmas present for myself and my husband. Spa treatment was excellent, really enjoyed the hot stone message. Was rather disappointed that the hot tub was out of order plus the steam room was also out of order. Room was clean and presentable,although the shower was cold, but I will say evening meal and breakfast were beautiful. Considering the price we paid I expected everything to be working.

We arrived at the Corran and were immediately impressed with the look and location of the place. A mix of old and new. We were an hour early before check in and the reception staff were very welcoming and said we could use the facilities straight away so we decided to sample the bar while we waited. The outside area is beautiful and felt very relaxed. We stayed in room 17 in the great barn and the room is gorgeous and has everything you need. Great selection of teas and coffees and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was also a hit with its massage feature. The food was stunning, very tasty and even being vegetarian there was plenty of choice. We were shocked at how reasonable the prices are for food and drink considering the quality of it all. The espresso martini and selection of flavoured gins were a particular favourite! The pool and sauna was lovely and I had a full body massage which was gorgeous and again very reasonably priced. All staff were very friendly and easy to talk to. Overall there was nothing I could find to criticise and we will definitely stay again.

Lovelly place but could be better. No water when we visited so we had to leave and stay somewhere else or go home. Didn't even get a drink or our spa treatments. Returned the following week. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful. It could do with a freshen up in the rooms, damp in bathroom with paint bubbling off wall. Room was very big and plenty of space. Function room was fantastic but more waiting staff than residents makes you feel a little uncomfortable. Very expensive for food and drinks

On our arrival I noticed I couldn't here my kids crying so I was already on my way to happiness.The staff were very welcoming and polite, we were shown to our room which was better than I was expecting. It was huge, lovely bed, sitting area with tv, large bathroom with stand alone bath & seperate shower. The whole place oozes CHILL so for that I'd have given 5 stars.Less good bits: A few little things let the overall experience down for me. I'm pretty sure our room didn't have hot water but as we had spa treatments I showered elsewhere so didn't investigate too much.. Although whilst showering in the spa block none of the taps worked so I had to run the shower for water. The spa itself was smaller than expected, the steam room was out of order and the sauna was not warm.The restaurant didn't open on time the first night and I was expecting a slightly higher quality steak (the triple cooked chips were spot on tho).Back to the good stuff: The bar was nice, woods and leathers, has a decent selection of beers and ales. My Mrs particularly enjoyed the cocktails and the cocktail hour (buy one get one free).The spa treatment was great, full body massage recommended. I fell asleep on the massage table and then in the chill out room they have set up for before and afterward treatments.Overall I enjoyed and it's a great place to relax. We went on a Sunday Monday visit and it felt like staffing was a bit low, maybe they'd had a busy weekend and that contributed to some of my negative points. I'd definitely recommend a visit at least once.

Totally fabulous weekend from the wonderful welcome at reception . Our room was just gorgeous a lovely mixture of existing old features with modern contemporary touches. The spa experience was lovely I left feeling relaxed and glowing after my facial. The food was superb and the Restaurant Manager and his staff were so professional and attentive even though there was a large party we were not kept waiting. Jamie and Alison have created a lovely retreat for those wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle. Will definitely be going back.

Quite friendly check in but the place is a bit run down. The room we had was very noisy with squeaky floors and really loud radiators. The pool, jacuzzi and one remaining functional sauna were really dirty. The sauna was barely hot and the changing rooms are disgusting. Covered in mud and the lockers don't lock. The restaurant was pretty good and the limited menu options were well prepared and tasty. Unfortunately our waiter wasn't very good at English so we couldn't understand if there were any daily specials. We stayed for two nights and the menu was the same for each. It's fairly remote and not possible to walk nearby as it's beside a firing range that runs between the Corran and the sea but it's quite close to some nice seaside places and countryside.

Sunday Lunch was truly delicious, could not fault it. Portion size was great also everything cooked to perfection. Staff lovely and friendly also tables not crammed near each other. Three courses for £12.99 an absolute winner can't wait to go again.

We booked the Corran last minute and what luck we had. It's quite isolated but you can be in one of the local towns within 10 minutes by car. Our suite is huge and very comfortable with a large TV, sofa and very large bed. The restaurant service is attentive and the food is perfect. We recommend ordering a side of vegetables as the food is more about quality than quantity. The treatments we received were spot on with relaxation as the focus. I would recommend booking your slots early to suit your itinerary as we had to fit in around others. All the staff were very helpful and pleasant. I would recommend this place for food, spa, accommodation and the rugged beautiful surroundings.

Highly recommended. Beautiful surroundings, fabulous staff, sheer indulgence. The food is so good , you'll be talking about until the next time you visit to get your delicious food fix. The rooms are pure luxury, the treatments in the spa are done by highly qualified friendly staff. The restaurant takes your breath away with its simplicity and decadence combined.
