Great service and very helpful when buying some satin varnish this morning for these two paintings in oils on canvas.

I have bought quite a few things from them over the years and their knowledge about framing is very good.The employed staff have always been very helpful and polite.WARNINGIf you buy something you are not happy with or have a duplicate of you will feel like you are the guilty party when you need to return it.I had to return an item and was made to feel like a criminal after this experience I will not spend another penny in this establishment .

I had an enjoyable, light-hearted, laughter filled chat with the two charming ladies in the white Dog Gallery in Southsea today regarding children's clothing shops amongst many other topics. They advised me of a fabulous shop around the corner called Edith and Blanche which I subsequently visited. It is so refreshing when local businesses support and encourage each other. Well done Southsea. I digress. The ladies, apologies I never asked your names, were professional but personable, lovely, polite and very informed. I was advised on items to purchase for a new hobby, there was a huge gift range also, a bargain £5.50 bucket which had to be raided and even an ordering service available for products I needed. It is a lovely TARDIS of amazing finds and each time I walked around inside I found other items on the shelves I hadn't seen. Thank you both for helping a harassed shopper laugh, smile and leave with a spring in her step. Sorry but I will be back :) Kim

We regularly use Hiscocks for the framing of very challenging artwork (think cutout stainless steel). The team are consummate professionals, working to the highest standards at very competitive prices and genuinely lovely people who obviously love art. I have no hesitation in recommending Rick and the team to others.

The White Dog Gallery is an excellent shop for art prints, art materials and artistic gifts. They also offer a framing service which I have used in the past and been very satisfied with. On the most recent occasion I was looking for a rechargeable book light and had the choice of two different models. Service was friendly, polite and very efficient. I recommend this delightful shop tucked away on a corner not far from Southsea's shopping precinct.

Amazing shop in the local area have bought some lovely products from them. The lady in shop is very friendly and polite.However a gentleman in the shop came off as condensing when my partner asked him a question - not sure whether he aware that his remarks weren't polite or whether was unaware they were caused offence.I recommend you look inside but the customer service you get may vary from whoever you are speaking with.

Absolutely amazing in such a beautiful place with incredible staff if you're ever in the area highly recommend.

Nice gallery, nice staff. Just some advice to the staff, please only help if someone asks for it. Or if they say no, they’re just looking please leave them to it. I felt incredibly rushed and wasn’t able to think because my thoughts were being interrupted by questions. I know what I need when I see it, i wasn’t making something conventional so my time was wasted answering questions when all I wanted to do was look. I only had 10 minutes of my lunch break and because I had to leave you did loose out on sales. Still giving 5 stars because I understand you were trying to give good customer service and help me.

I came in to have some A3 images mounted onto hardboard, and the work was done very well.Lovely lady at the front desk, but the guy who did the work was a bit condescending when he mentioned multiple times how the image would 'deteriorate' with the aim of obviously getting me to buy frames which I did not want.I explained that I do not have 200 pounds to make a custom frame and after that he didn't even bother saying thanks and goodbye once the job was done. Perhaps just a bad day.The work was done well though, and the pictures look great on my wall. Just have to worry about them deteriorating in 100 years.

I needed a frame very quickly for a 50th birthday and the service was outstanding. Very friendly staff and framed in 30 minutes. Very happy and highly recommended ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
