This was a last minute booking but it was a pleasant surprise. The guide Ryan was very friendly and knowledgeable about the butterflies and other animals in the venue. Really enjoyed ourselves. Make sure you go when the talks and demos are happening.Something to note is that the summer is high season for butterflies. We have gone in October so there weren’t as many flying about and also we went first thing in the morning so they were still resting / resting. Step free access everywhere which is great because we had a pushchair with us.

Had a great visit to butterfly world, we even returned later on in the week we enjoyed it that much. This was mainly due to the staff member Ryan who was very friendly and knowledgeable. He let us hold the snakes and spiders and even convinced my mother in law to let her have her own one as a pet. He is an asset to the business.

We visited Butterfly World with our family (an infant and a toddler) and had a wonderful time. I expected to be there for an hour or so but we were there for about 2.5 hours until closing. The staff have interactive talks and opportunities to handle mini beasts and feed the fish. We’d missed the mini beasts but the staff showed us around anyway. Ryan in particular went above and beyond - he was knowledgeable about the animals, friendly and professional, and also joked with our family and helped us take photos. There is a cafe and garden centre and small play area. A perfect activity for a rainy day.

Lovely little place to spend an hour or two with kids. Visited in October. Wish there would be more butterflies to see, but probably it depends on the time of the year as a lot was still in cocoons. Enjoyed minibeast handling session a lot ❤️

Staff are very knowledgeable and I'd recommend going for the talks which are every 15 minutes. Saw some lovely butterflies but I think we went too late in the year to enjoy a full apiary. Nonetheless it was a nice walk around the space where we were also able to get up close with the mini beasts. I wasn't brave enough to hold the tarantula but I held Monty the 16 year old corn snake which was a great new experience. They also had a bearded dragon, a leopard gecko and tortoises.

Great day! We met Ryan the keeper who has a wealth of knowledge that he is more than ready to share! Got to meet some other little animals too which was a great bonus! Can’t wait to come back when they reopen next year

This place is a little hidden gem! I went today with my Dad, not really knowing what to expect, and my oh my were we extremely impressed. A phenomenal trip out on the Island. The staff there were welcoming and kind, and the staff member who hosted the minibeasts handling/ koi fish talk was extremely knowledgeable and informative about all of the creatures cared for there. Was able to handle (carefully) a Leapord Gecko, Bearded Dragon, Corn Snake and a Tarantula. Also did something very unexpected, which was bottle feed some Koi fish.Beautiful butterflies, well kept animals and brilliant staff… 100% would recommend!

Sadly when we arrived we'd missed all the activities. There's always next time, keeper talks starts at 10:45 and ends at 14:30, there's butterfly walk, minibeast handling and koi feeding. The gentleman with the dragon tattoo on his arm was very friendly and very helpful, showing us around telling us all different facts about everything there, he definitely knowing his stuff. He was even kind enough to offer to take photos Thank you so much!! Really enjoyed our time there, the themed gardens was beautiful and breath-taking. The blonde lady behind the desk was very friendly. After we finished both staff members told us some of the fun incounters they've had since working there. Thank you again and hope to see you back in June

Fantastic day, especially when the weather takes a turn for the worst. Close up experience with butterflies and other insects. Handling experiences and the opportunity to learn more about the animals held here. The only letdown was the cafe experience. Ordered 1 pasty, 1 bowl of cheesy chips, and 1 bacon bap. After 20 minutes, the pasty came out, and we expected the rest to follow shortly. However, there was an extremely long wait for the bacon bap and a portion of chips, at least 40 minutes. This really did out a dampner on our day as it seemed the cafe staff were extremely incompetent. There is also only 1 tiny handwritten menu at the till so you can't decide on what you would like before queuing.Give the cafe a good revamp, and you have yourself a lovely day experience.

The butterfly tour is informative and is like they introduce us to the butterflies. The trail has many points of interest and the butterflies roam freely about. There are also some surprise birds part of the ecosystem. The beast handling was fantastic. Held Tortoise, Corn Snake and Tarantula. All very friendly. The Koi pond feeding is a really good, the fish are mesmerising. The Japanese and Italian Gardens are pleasant to stroll through.Thoroughly enjoyed my time there!
