Well, I like this place. They're trying to do their bit, as much as possible is local, organic, not packaged etc. You can buy 4 eggs, loose nuts, brown rice all that kind of thing. But of course, it's expensive, because they're not following the cheapest option all the time. This is the real cost of food. The cheap supermarket prices rely on exploitation of some sort, somewhere.

Nice organic store, I like the range of loose nuts, oats, etc. The fresh milk & eggs are great, you re-use your egg cartons or milk bottles. Some of the fruit and veg are a bit pricey though. There's a cafe also, which is nice.

Awesome organic zero waste shop! Not only food, but also pet supply and much more, like local vegetables, fruits and bread. The 100% organic, vegetarian, local food canteen is super! Most dishes there are vegan. Just be aware that the canteen opening times differ from the shop and is closed during evening. If you are looking for a local organic dinner, then Henderson's restaurant will do.When you come to the shop, you might also look out for their events like cooking classes or Portuguese brunch, ...The only wish I would have:I would like to have the origin of those refill lentils for example written on the sign.

They have the best milk you can find in Edinburgh. If you’ve ever tried milk from the farm, you stop calling generic milk from UK shops “milk” — it tastes like chemicals, and doesn’t get sour even if you let it sit in a warm place overnight. In Locavore, they sell real farm milk, which tastes amazing, has cream on top — and yes, it goes sour in 3-4 days, but this means it’s real! I am obsessed. Fresh milk is restocked every Thursday, you can buy a glass bottle in the shop for the first time and you can use it for your next shopping (and trust me, you will keep coming back for that milk!)I gradually started doing more and more shopping here — for example, getting some local veggies, butter or oats. They also have 10% off for students!

Such a good place for healthy food and sustainable products.I would have loved more variety though, considering their huge space, especially regarding unprocessed or healthier options. For example, I could not find a truly sweetener-free ketchup/hot sauce.

Extremely expensive, and for that shop assistants should be a lot more friendly and helpful and know their items. After another try, removing a star.Really 0 customer orientation and so arrogant. No bags? People are supposed to spend their money on your overpriced products but get 0 service at all? Like - not even the most basic one of being able to transport the goods in a protected way? No, not everyone carries shopping bags with them all day long wherever they go, in my case neither when flying from one end of Europe to the other, nor when spontaneously interrupting bus journey from one end of Edinburgh to the other only to get some items for dinner, after a really bad day, and with completely full bags, which also contained things that really shouldn't be mixed and spoilt with potentially leaking groceries!! There is a whole science" (common sense) reg transporting shopping items.I am used to not only getting a (paper...) bag - - but also to the shop assistant packing those for me. And not starting discussions with me

Excellently stocked with creative local and ethical products. Top notch highlights include Garvald baked goods and the amazing granola that they make in store. Cafe is also fantastic. Fresh and exciting seasonal/local fruit and veg will help you be more imaginative in the kitchen and you can massively reduce your carbon footprint simply by shopping here!
