Wakefield’s main Asda supermarket. Very big store with more choice of products than the average Asda, at least when fully stocked. Have a reasonable selection of houseplants and large home section. Pretty much what you’d expect from a large supermarket.Recently the store has been suffering shortages, mainly from what I’ve seen in the frozen department and also eggs.Has a few smaller stores within like costa, cake box and timpsons.Car park is a bit manic at times.

Not sure what’s happened to this store in the last 18 months but the stock levels are appalling. Nearly every aisle is barren and this isn’t just in an evening before re-stock this is all the time. Used to be a brilliant store, it’s a shame. There’s never any sizing in baby cloths above 6-9 months. The meat aisle is always empty and the baby food is non-existent to mention a few. You must be losing unbelievable amounts of money just due to poor stock/store management.

I was in the Wakefield store this morning and saw the Manager's Specials at the fruit and veg section. There were 3 prices at the top of the display. Highest amount £1. No indication of what the amounts were for. There were mangoes, lettuces and 2 types of strawberries. I was drawn to the prices and thought that even the highest amount of £1 was still a great price for a pack of strawberries. However I doubted myself and checked further into the fruit section and it turned out that the strawberries were either £1.49 or £2. I went back to the Manager's Specials and on small labels underneath all the fruit on display were the correct prices. This was false marketing. The strawberries were not part of the Manager's Specials and should not have been placed there. I spoke to a fruit and veg assistant and was told that the displays had to be full of stock even if they were not part of the Manager's Specials! I have tried to find an email for the manager but no success yet. My experience of the Customer Service number is not brilliant so I thought I'd try this path initially. Please do not buy the Manager's Special items without thoroughly checking the price. Asda - sort out your marketing. It needs to be accurate.

It's ok but...If your going to remove all the tills please ensure enough staff are available to help self serve kiosk's. This is supposed to be more efficient for both store and customer. Feels like it's just a cost saving exercise for the store at this time.

Been a customer of this store for many, many years but not no more..my business will go to Morrisons going forward as the lack of staff on the tills resulting in queues halfway up the Isles is extremely poor. Its not just an isolated occasion but the last few times we have visited now. The emphasis appears to be on self scanning perhaps to save money on resource and further increase their huge profits. Not everyone wants to self scan or self check out. I feel for some of the elderly who are maybe not tech savy. Xmas promises to be a joke! Goodbye ASDA and hello Morrisons!

Very poor store. Stock very low, not just low but very very low. Theres more above the shelves than there is on the shelf itself. The brothers have ruined asda. Completely ruined it. It needs to go back to previous staffing levels to ensure the place remains fully stocked. Im sure the bosses are aware that in order to make money they need to sell products. And in order to sell products they need to have them on the shelf.Im sure this store is ready for shutting down. Its a disgrace to the associated dairys humble beginnings.

Simply gone downhill. For a start they are stocking toys that kids arn’t intrested in. Secondly it is very dark with the only positive about this place is that the health and beauty isles are light. Thirdly really rude staff. Chucking stuff in the bin while customers are checking out there items? Staff are also laughing around not helping customers. The store entrance and there uniform say there always happy to help but they arn’t. I decided not to ask them where were the bags due to there unkindness. Improve improve improve please. Won’t go back. I’ll go to Glasshoughton instead.

Stocking levels are very very poor here. The store is badly managed and poorly staffed. On frequent visits there are never any trolley near the entrance, you have to go roaming around carpark to find one. When you do find one they almost always have annoying issues with wheels as they are not maintained.

Great store but my daughter has severe anxiety and social anxiety, she also has bad experience with men. While she was getting sweets at asda a male worker with pink hair approached her and thought that she was stealing when she was just getting money off of her bag, he asked her to open her bag and there was nothing in it. She got a panic attack later on after the worker left. Is this how you treat all of your costumers from kettlethorpe? Like they are stealing? My daughter had to calm HERSELF down without any workers noticing. This is very dangerous because she could do stuff like self harm without me knowing. Good thing she went straight to me and told her the problem. Pls hire better workers. Sincerely Miss Muncada
