We had an absolutely fantastic evening tonight. I phoned yesterday to book a table for 10 people and spoke to Claire the manager who asked on the phone if it was for an occasion and I said it was a birthday. We arrived tonight to banners and balloons on the table with a note for the birthday girl. We were served all evening by Keelan who is amazing. Such fantastic customer service skills and really lovely to chat to. He was just amazing!! Thank you all for a lovely, lovely evening. Food was lovely, drinks were too. Food came out very quickly.

So disappointed with the visit here today. We arrived at 4:15 to be told they would not be able to serve food until 5pm. This wasn’t a problem as we had a long journey home and decided to enjoy a rest while we waited. Unfortunately we were unable to place the order until 5 and this is where it went down hill very quickly. The staff member taking orders had her name badge turned around and was extremely rude. Her boyfriend was sitting at the bar which seemed unprofessional, maybe she was trying to look good in front of him? We asked questions and decided to get the reward card but we’re not advised that we could enjoy 50% off mains on our first order. She didn’t even ask if we wanted to use the card to gain reward points. We went back to the table and registered which immediately brought to our attention the benefits we could have received. When we asked about this she was very rude and basically said that it was our own fault. There were 5 adults and 1 child in our party so it would have been nice to benefit from the rewards that Brewers Fayre have to offer. When the food came there were thing’s missing that we had to ask for and one meal was served at least 10 minutes before the others so he had basically finished by the time the rest were served. The table next to us were so disgusted with their own issues with staff that they left without eating and went to get a refund. We asked for a refund as soon as we registered and before any food was served. We asked if we could order again using the new membership deal but were told they wouldn’t do that and we would still be charged regardless of staying to eat. The whole experience was very poor and spoiled the day out we had just had for the youngest of the party’s birthday. We found out before leaving that the person we dealt with was called Lydia and was supposed to be in charge. She needs customer service training before she puts any more customers off using Brewers Fayre. None of us will ever venture into this particular branch again because of this and I hope that Brewers Fayre note the need to remind staff of how to treat customers instead of promoting a bad reputation for the business which will be detrimental to all.

This is probably the worst run restaurant I have stayed in on my premier inn experience.Due to the sit down policy you have people queuing out the door even though there are plenty of empty tables.Even for breakfast you wait to be seen which is fair enough. But then escorted past numerous empty tables to be sat at the back of the restaurant. If you want food you have to queue to be seenIf you want a drink you have to queue to be seen.Really not enough staff to service the restaurant properly but what staff there is a re nice. Also the food available for breakfast goes fast and it’s sparse at the best of times.I don’t eat cooked breakfast but really this didn’t look cookedPlease book at all times but be prepared to queue.CheersDR

Had a few drinks as I was staying in the hotel next door. I am unable to comment on the food as I didn't eat there. The drinks were okay........eventually. However, it is the service arrangements that this review will focus on.For a reason that doesn't make any sense to me, the only way you can order anything is at the bar. There is no app, no waiter service, table service, or any other way. Now ordinarily, that wouldn't be an issue if you had lots of staff working behind the bar. But this place doesn't.What it did have was one poor lady trying to take food and drinks order from the 40-50 or so people in the pub and then have to make and serve those same drinks, before dealing with he next customer.Unsurprisingly, as a family restaurant, you get lots of families there, so each food order is normally large and accompanied by a similar number of drinks. What this means is that there is a permanent long wait at the bar, even if you just want a quick drink and no food.Either sort out how you order, or employ more staff. Your current order and service arrangements are very poor.

Mains really enjoyed, desserts didn't taste of anything which is disappointing. Also not the cleanest restaurant. In need of deep clean for example food in recess behind bench seating and black gunk on radiator from hand dryer.

Always takes way too long to get our food, so long we've had to ask staff what's going on on multiple occasions.First time this happened we had to wait ages for our mains, and then after that had to remind them 2 times about our desserts, waiting over an hour for our desserts.Last time I asked after 30 mins of waiting and they said we should've been told about a 30 minute delay, but we were never told.Food is also in small portions and tasteless. Had the chicken burger, which was two of the smallest goujons in a bun. Mostly just tasted of batter. The next time the steak was cooked medium rare but somehow cold and just tasted of nothing.Don't recommend, food is cheap with deals but isn't worth the wait times.

Booked table which was ready and waiting for us, it was clean and Claire was a great host. Food was as expected for a budger chain pub, but cooked and presented well. 40% off was a great added bonus

Arrived 1900. Ordered our food at the bar 1915. Starters were prompt and hot. Main meal arrived at 20:45 after asking 3 times how much longer. Lots of ppl were complaining, Not happy. Our food was warm ish, No check backs, Staff were all rude. We didn't bother with pudding. We won't be going again.

24th October 2023 - 6.23pmStaying over in Exeter so stopped off for a quick bite to eat.Told to choose a table (sit where you want and order atbthe bar), so I placed my coat on the back of the chair as if to claim that table.Went to the bar to order (the bar staff don't get on, young lady disputing why she should be fired with a colleague) openly confronting each other whilst trying to serve customers, unprofessional !Went back to the table i thought was mine, where a member of staff had sat another paying guest (despite my coat being on the back of the chair) for all to see. I moved to another table....the table numbers were all messed up....food arrived and presented to tables close by, and then to me. The food was not especially good (best case....OK).Next time I will keep driving and eat elsewhere, the staff just didn't seem bothered about customers. Where has customer service gone !!Poor show Brewers Fayre....your receipt asks for feedback, sadly not great !

The food was good, but it took more than 45 minutes to be ready. While we have been advised that it will be the case when we were ordering, and there is a note displayed stating the same, still it was a long waiting time. We had kids with us, and it was difficult to manage. Staff are nice, food is good (taste, size, and price wise). The waiting time is the only negative point.
