The Grand Atlantic Hotel

Had a weekend break, good base if you want to look around, right on the seafront. Staff very friendly and helpful and attentive. The rooms need updating, also hotel in need of some TLC. But overall good value for money.

Good things:Friendly staff, great food and each room has a fan in the wardrobe. Bad things: my room was a bit tired, floor wasn't hoovered and the soap dispenser didn't work. My mum's room was good apart from a wet patch on the floor and the bathroom door wouldn't close. I had a bit of a scary experience when settling down for bed. There were flies everywhere. They bit me several times so I had to go next door to my mum's room. I slept on the floor in there. The staff were really good about it and gave us a £50 refund. Overall great stay I would definitely come again.

Absolutely shocking, we were a party of 3, one single & 1 double room, we did not leave the hotel from arriving having a drink in the bar & evening meal, while we went back into the bar someone entered our room with a key & stole 3 debit cards & 2 credit cards & a driving licence. Clearly this hotel should come with a sign stay here at your own risk!! The police were informed & the staff were considerate but unable to speak to the General Manager until the morning who refunded us fully. With the trauma of canceling all cards 1 was pending a transaction not made by us but fortunately we cancelled.

Just returned from a 5 day break at the Grand Atlantic Hotel and had a great experience. Big bright sea view room, clean comfortable bed and powerful shower. The breakfast and evening meals were excellent and staff provided a quick and polite service. I feel that some of the negative reviews are very unfair. Yes the Hotel is a bit tired but nothing so serious that merits complaint. I know reviews are very subjective but I would urge you to give this hotel a try you might be pleasantly surprised.

Lovely building overlooking the beach. Somewhat worn and shabby and only one small, very slow, lift. Breakfast was plentiful but very standard. Dinners were very good. Staff friendly and helpful. Recommend as a base to visit elsewhere as Weston super mare is pretty grim apart from the beach .

Well, where on earth do I start with this one. A huge disappointment all round.First of all, I was pretty shocked when I walked through the door to sign in and be told there was a n extra charge for the use of the hotels own car park?! I have never known this before anywhere, I’ve always expected the car parking to be included in the stay.I paid the hidden charge and signed in, to then be directed to my room by Nicole on the reception.Now I should just state, I paid the extra supplement to be placed in a “Superior Twin Room with Sea View”. My first thought in entering the room was, where the F is the sea view?? I was at the back of the hotel with no sign of the sea anywhere.So back down to reception I went where Nicole wasn’t in the slightest bit interested in my complaint. I’ve never known a receptionist to be so unhelpful. I was told there were no sea view twin rooms available because they had all been allocated to other guests. Then how had I been sold one of these rooms?Nicole told me there was nothing she could do to upgrade me or refund me the difference for the sea view room because I’d booked through an exterior site.I messaged my booking company and after a long conversation via message and telephone call, they contacted Nicole to talk to her. She told them that even though I didn’t have a sea view room, I was still in a superior room… now when you take a look through my photos, I think you’ll agree that I’d this is supposed to be superior, I’d hate to see the big standard rooms!Thankfully, my booking company, even though I had only asked for the difference between sea view room and standard room to be refunded, actually got me a full refund.Positives, bed was relatively comfy and linen was clean.Negatives, everything else. Room is tired to the state of being in urgent need of a good decorator at the very least. And although I only dealt with the one, it’s fair to say that said staff member needs a great deal of training in customer relations.I will not be returning to the Grand Atlantic ever. My advice would be to find somewhere that cares about their customers a bit more.

The service was very good, the room we had clean & comfortable but needed a coat of paint. I was disappointed to learn that guests had to pay £6.00 to park their car overnight, especially after paying over £100 for their room. The whole hotel needs a lot of money spending on it so that it can live up to the title of The Grand Atlantic Hotel.

Very old fashion but that gives it loads of character!!! Which I love. Room basic but that's all I needed, clean tidy bathroom could do with a bit of TLC and shower far to small, but that's just my opinion. Food good, staff brilliant, happy, smiling friendly and very helpful. Will definitely be back.

Lovely hotel. Beautiful spacious rooms and extremely cosy, with an amazing sea view. Planning to return again very shortly.The only reasons it is not 5 star is because we didn't have a bath (although there was a lovely large walk in shower), and guests have to pay to park.But generally highly recommended.
