I had a complete hip replacement in January by Mr Datta and his team.I was admitted to The Spire Hospital Friday 7th January 2022 the staff made me feel very comfortable and at ease, they kept me informed of the following procedures, then in the afternoon took me off for my operation. After many years of constant pain when I woke up from the the surgery I was completely pain free. The next day I was up and walking around the ward, Mr Datta came to see me and said I could go home the next day.The excellent surgical skills and dedication of Mr Datta and his team has changed my life. That was 7 weeks ago and I am totally pain free and able to walk unaided without limping for the first time for many years.A big thank you to Mr Datta and his team, truly excellent, I would have no problem recommending Mr Datta and his team.

After many months of hip pain I had my first hip injection under Mr Datta. I am so grateful. Mr Datta is attentive and very easy to like and talk too. He listened to my needs and I'm now currently pain free and long may it last.Mr Datta has a very efficient and kind Medical Secretary too thank you Laura Smith and Thank you Mr Datta.

I had a total hip replacement at the end of \November last year (2021), first class treatment along with excellent surgeon. Most Nursing staff very good and made me feel at ease. Mr Datta deserves the highest praise and I would have no hesitation in recommending him, his care and attention to detail are second to none.As a competitive horse rider I am now back in the saddle fully confident once again. Many thanks for everything, I now have my old life back.

I can not praise Mr Datta enough. I had a total femoral collapse after waiting for almost 2 years due to Covid delays on the NHS. I had 5 surgical consultant appointments made and all 5 were cancelled. I saw Mr Datta 5 days after calling his Secretary and he gave me the diagnosis. He provided a full hip replacement service and he and all the staff at The Spire hospital in Southampton were just fantastic. From taking 15 various pills a day beforehand I was just taking paracetamol plus an anti blood clot tablet when I was discharged on day 4. Ongoing physiotherapy as part of my package. I'm now 2 months post op, walking without aids and no hip pain whatsoever. My sincere and heartfelt thanks to Mr Datta and his team.

I had my knee replaced by Mr Gora Datta 12 days ago. Very sympathetic treatment in a comfortable environment. So far so good.. I can bend my knee to 100 degrees not quite so good straightening it and have taken a few steps indoors unaided. Due to have clips out in two days and so far am very pleased. Still a long way to go.

I recently had hip arthroscopy on my left hip performed by Mr Datta and have recently come off crutches. It is too early to say whether it will prevent a THR as I had a lot of damage. What I can say is how supportive Mr Datta has been throughout. He has provided me with every bit of information about my case so that I could make informed choices.The surgery went very well and I was surprisingly calm considering it was my first operation.If I had to have a THR in the future, I would have no hesitation in choosing Mr Datta to perform the operation. Mr Datta replaced my left hip back in 2011 and in so doing he gave me back my life, so when my right hip began giving me problems my first choice was to return to his care. I had my right hip replaced by him 5 weeks ago and even though I am still in the recovery phase I can already see how great the improvement is in my alignment, my walk and my comfort. I am overwhelmingly grateful to Mr Datta for his care and concern, his professionism and his incredible competence. He also happens to be one of the most humble surgeons on the planet, informing me that 'anyone can do a hip replacement' . Well, whether that is true or not, he is my hero and I have told him so.I have 6 very beloved ponies and I work in the equine industry. His interventions have meant that I am able to continue my horse centred activities. I don't have words to describe the value of this gift, which honestly feels quite miraculous.I recommend Mr Datta as a surgeon without any hesitation or reservation and I really wish it were possible that everyone with hip pain could have his attention.

I had a successful Revision Left Total Hip Replacement in January this year (2022) carried out by Mr Gorav Datta and his incredible team. The care and attention I received pre-op, during the surgery it self and post-op was truly outstanding. On discharge I followed everything I had been advised to do with my physio exercises and rest. I set myself a new challenge each day and am delighted to say that by 6 weeks I was back in the pool walking. 8 weeks swimming, 10 weeks driving my manual car. Then amazingly by 12 weeks I was off my crutches outdoors walking 5,000 steps a day without limping or pain and back to my love of kayaking which I celebrated with a 2hr pain free emotional Kayak (in picture).Not only has Mr Datta and his Team given back to me my quality of life with my new pain free hip but also I no longer need high blood pressure tablets. My heartfelt thanks and sincere appreciation to you Mr Datta.I truly cannot recommend Mr Gorav Datta Orthopaedic Surgeon highly enough for Hip Revision Surgery.

My husband (Barrie) has just had a hip replacement. Dr. Datta and the entire team have been absolutely amazing. 3 hours after his operation he was walking 12 steps. Now 6 weeks on, he is a new man.
