Exeter Airport

Here at Long stay car park 4 we managed to get some amazing captures as the planes come right up close to you.This is a plane spotters dream!

Overall this is an experience with a better than average experience. Sadly the officious lady manning the bag scanner entry point on Monday morning lets all this down. A long and slow moving queue was the result of her endeavors as she barked orders and greetings at passengers. We were traveling as a couple, for space efficiency we placed two regulation size bags of toiletries in a single tray with other items to be scanned but this Jobsworth wasn't having it at all! Having clarified we were traveling as a couple she then instructed that it was one bag each maximum (which it was) and that they should be in separate trays (nonsense)! No one with anything resembling a boot was going to enter the scanner with them on, she made sure of that. Nothing random or for specific type of boots, simply if she deemed it a boot (in the UK in Autumn it's a common choice of footwear) then she was pulling them all out of the queue to remove their offending footwear to be scanned; thus adding more to the queue length.Obviously if more than one scanner/queue had been operational it would have been quicker but 2 flights were clearly not considered worthy. They do have until June 2024 to upgrade their scanners which removes the need to remove liquids and laptops etc but as it's now mandated by law, Exeter Airport would do well to get ahead of the queue for these scanners in order to lessen the queues this one individual in particular was creating. Mostly pleasant staff but inefficient and lackadaisical attitudes. Be warned if you buy anything from the cafe, your receipt will show as 'Manchester Airport' for some inexplicable reason.'Could do better' should be the adopted slogan perhaps.

The minimum £5 charge to pick up or drop off someone is just too high. Ideally, there would be a rail link to the airport but public transport is a slog. The parking prices are only visible when you reach the car park entrance barrier, so difficult to change your mind if other cars are behind you.Otherwise, the airport has zero facilities other than a toilet and a vending machine. It's a pretty austere, unwelcoming experience.

Best airport in South West suits us because we travel to Alicante and Tenerife quite often and use flights by TUI and RYANAIR

Nice enough airport, with helpful and friendly staff, 2 things let it down the lack of destinations served especially links to other major UK airports and second the disgraceful £5 charge for drop off and pick up. Would 15 mins free really be a big issue.

First time flying from Exeter and have to say it exceeded our expectations. Needed special assistance for daughter who has autism. We reported to special assistance desk and were able to sit here and wait for check in to open rather than having to stand in line staff checked us in and then our bags, we were then escorted through security and shown to a quiet room to wait if needed. We also got priority boarding so my daughter could settle before all passengers boarded. Excellent friendly service.

It's a small airport but has good and friendly staff. You will have departures and arrivals differently, Just side by side. You can see duty free once security check is done. It's some confusing if you are here first time after security check to get to gates or lounge but don't worry staff here are very friendly they will show you way.

A little gem! From easy parking through to boarding. A big shout out to the bright and breezy Adrian on security this morning whose cheery attitude got our holiday off to a flying(!)start. Excellent customer service from all staff

Very efficient and friendly service from all at Exeter Airport. No queues as such through security who were all very helpful and friendly. Will definitely use this airport again. The larger airports should look at Exeter on how to give it's customers good service.
