Vets Now Kilmarnock
Although the practice was extremely busy and understaffed, the vet was extremely thorough and did all the tests my dog needed. Came away with medication and the information was sent straight to my usual vet,so they had all the information. There was a very long waiting time, but this was u understandable considering the amount of patients they had to deal with. I'm very grateful they were there ro help my dog on a Sunday. Thank you to all the staff.

I attended this practice as an out of hours emergency for my dog. The support staff were friendly and helpful. The vet was attentive, knowledgeable, reassuring and informative. The whole experience was positive and I wholeheartedly recommend Vets Now.

My 8wk old puppy had injested dangerous medication and had to spend the night in hospital having hourly checks on his blood pressure, heart, etc so human equivalent being in intensive care. He was under the care of a vet whos day job was with PDSA and she committed herself to keeping the cost down for us even tho we said 'do whatever you need to do'. All the staff were excellent caring for Dougie and fell for his very cheeky nature as he recovered, even reception staff. Vets Now being the place to go if you have an emergency with your pet, its a place i wld rather not be in but if you have to be there then its the best people to care for your pet

The vet Nicola, was so nice as was the receptionist. They had a real emergency in and so we had to wait a while but that was understandable. My only thing against the out of hours vets is the huge cost just to see a vet. We have a modest income and put money away for our three cats rather than having insurance but it’s £276 before you even get to see a vet which I think is a lot. We almost decided to wait till after the weekend to see our own vet as our cats condition was not an emergency, however we knew he was in pain so decided we had to pay it for his sake. I believe many will leave an animal in pain rather than go to out of hours vet due to the cost. Only a few years ago, my own vet came out on Easter Sunday to treat my sick rabbit. There was no extra cost involved. I think they have lost sight that their vocation was about relieving animal suffering and not just about money.

I was very grateful to the vet who saw my sick dog within 20 minutes of calling. He got what he needed and is recovering well. The price is exorbitant though and I’m sure many people would have to let their animal suffer until the day surgery opens. £270 before any consultation or treatment….

Disappointed in service received - as an emergency service I fully understand that there are limited staff and many patients. However working within the industry I would never leave a potential toxicity patient waiting, I would prioritise or discuss with a RVN to look out for arrival so emesis can occur promptly as they are time sensitive cases. Only stopping a member of staff walking past enabled my dog to get seen just outwith the time frame recommend to induce emesis to minimise the risks of toxicity. No other cases seen (one in the 35mins I waited patiently ) were true emergencies requiring immediate attention. Staff should be keeping an eye on the diary and prioritising cases where possible. Also paid in full but when I tried to give insurance details to put in a claim I was dismissed by staff as this seemed too much effort. I also waited to pay while reception staff member pulled their phone out their pocket and read text messages in front of me

Really satisfied with the service I received. My pet was seen promptly after I phoned for advice, the vet we saw was lovely and I left feeling reassured and with a clear treatment plan and advice for my pet.

I was very worried about my new pup because she was really unwell. I had a brilliant experience with the receptionist and the vet. From start to finish I was made to feel at ease with the companion and care I was shown. My pup is back running around like a nutter lol. Thank you both so much for everything you did for my wee Bonny. ❤

When I recently had to take my dog in for an emergency procedure on a Sunday I found all the staff at Vets Now, receptionists and vets, to be friendly and helpful. My dog was treated quickly and the receptionist helped explain the insurance procedure to me.

Great service again from vets now. Still a bit concerned about a wound on my dogs leg which were told didn’t require stitches but is still very open. That is the only slight issue I have. Other than that such lovely veterinary staff working here who are always very helpful and reassuring.
