Scafell Hotel

Great pub attached to the hotel. The food was good, though the menu has been trimmed down since we last visited a couple of years ago. Decent selection of beers and wine, though not as many as per previous visits. Great service as always and great atmosphere when busy with walkers and locals mixing in chat.

We had a dinner and lunch here in the Riverside bar . My vegetarian lasagne was utterly delicious. Very friendly helpful staff . Lunch was great . Delicious homemade Stilton and broccoli soup with Welsh rarebit . This place well worth a visit .

Beautiful old buildings in a stunning setting. We stayed a couple of nights and had a super time exploring The Lakes. There are a few steps to go up and down in the Hotel but we were given a room with a wet room bathroom, and there were hand holds in there. Although there was a small issue with the high dusting and the shower not draining very well, there were excellent bath mats to ensure my footing and things were fixed very quickly.There's an old school charm about the the place. Not very mobility scooter friendly, but they allowed us to do the very shortest routes (via staff only areas) to reduce the distances.The food was spectacular. Simple food, great quality and beautifully cooked. Amazing flavours. A proper chef, who understood his job, was in charge for sure!. I'd go back just for the food!The staff were lovely too. Very attentive and welcoming (in a northern way). I'd happily stay here again as long as I have a friend to help with the steps that don't have hand holds.

Amazing food.I have dietary requirements and they were catered for superbly. They simply adapted what I wanted without using dairy. Certainly NO compromise on taste. I've not felt SO relaxed eating out in a long time.

The receptionist kindly offered to put our soaking wet clothing, boots and bags into a drying room. It was a major kindness for us hikers. The room was very nice and the heated towel rail and convection heater gave warmth and further drying options. The TV had lots of channels for the technically able. Good food at the bar and breakfast table.

Visited on Friday evening for a pub meal. Food was incredible. Absolutely lovely place too with super friendly staff

We popped into the Scafell Hotel for an evening meal on a very stormy Saturday evening. We didn't have a reservation, but the staff were very accommodating and we managed to find a table, despite everyone else also taking shelter from the storm.The restaurant/pub was very nice and the menu was fairly extensive with a good range of choices.I had the southern fried chicken burger with slaw and it was delicious.Overall, a really nice place to visit for a meal. I can't comment on the rooms.

Stayed for one night, B&B, as family. Great location. Parking wrt to the hotel size. Clean rooms. Helpful and kind staff. Good English breakfast. Left with good memories. Thanks to the lovely reception, restaurant and riverside bar staff.

Perfect place for a weekend away with my dad and sister.I can't really fault the place other than maybe the decor is a little dated in the main part of the hotel, it's not bad it's just maybe not overly fancy which suited us really.Just far enough out for it to not be massively busy like Keswick but enough people around to have a good atmosphere.The staff were amazing and the rooms were spotless, we even got a flash of tea made for us when we asked for some hot water for our hikes
