Quirky yet very cosy décor. Warm and friendly service. Great lunchtime offers with a selection of veggie choices not just one. Excellent choice of cask and keg ales, with local and festive ones too. It's a firm favourite for us.

Visited Saturday 4th March 2023, late afternoon.First time visiting and I'm quite impressed, it has a very upmarket feel to it; however, it isn't pretentious. We didn't eat but it seems that the food is excellent.Drinks wise it has an excellent selection with a great selection of cask and keg from the likes of Bang the Elephant, Pentrich etc alongside ciders, lager, spirits and soft drinks.Decor is warm and cosy with comfortable seating.Staff are friendly and approachable but very smart looking at professional.Check out their beer menu on Untapped.

We just happened upon this bar. Which is quite quirky and has different ales ,lagers and ciders from most of the other pubs. Prices were about average for a Saturday in town. Staff were reasonably friendly and efficient.

Sunday roast was good, but we asked for medium rare beef, but it came cooked. Dessert was so good! Overall, everything was great. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Would come back.

This is a really civilised little pub with some nice ales and whiskies, also bar snacks. View out front is lovely also (see photo)

Great beer miserable service. Still worth a visit if you like your ales. Wouldn’t eat there again. 3 stars as ale so good.

Truly excellent, stylish real ale pub and restaurant opposite the Justice Museum in Nottingham. This place offers a nice variety of well-kept cask & keg beers and some fine-dining level food at reasonable prices. I had the Magpie Roam and the Bang-the-Elephant Have You Seen My Umlaut" (a fine beer that's completely unlike the Munich Märzen-style it's supposed to interpret) for drinks and a great lunch of cod fillet. The guy behind the bar was most forthcoming and helpful (he let me try the beers before ordering). There weren't a lot of people there because I had lunch rather early

We came here, on the recommendation of a friend from Manchester, who stayed at the hotel next door when we were looking for an authentic" British pub. They have a variety of local ales and beers on tap and a nice menu with some pizzas

Great pub, like a labyrinth inside and the outdoor areas are great. Very European feel to the terrace and enclosed garden space.Food was very nice - Sunday lunch for £15. Only critique would be for thicker gravy but that’s only my preference! We were well looked after by the staff
