Red Lion Hotel Portsmouth
The food was great. Very tasty and hot even though we were a large party. The staff were very helpful and friendly too. No lie since discovering the Red Lion earlier this year we have not eaten out anywhere else. Such good value and not had a bad meal yet.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful - very welcoming to me & my daughter. The room was very clean and the bed was comfy. Shower nice and hot. Was perfect stay for one night. The food was ok but the automated ordering system was a little clunky and our drinks got lost - but the staff were more than happy to sort the problem. There were a couple of broken things in the room - like a snapped light fitting and the bathroom door didn't close but this didn't affect our stay. Would definitely stay again if needed.

My friend and I called in at the red lion for lunch, just an unplanned random choice and we were so pleased that we did. Neither of us had eaten here before and we weren't disappointed.My friend had nachos and I had a pizza and both were absolutely delicious.Free parking when you eat there, Excel value for money and great customer service. Very friendly welcome.

Visited for lunchThe bar/restaurant was a light airy welcoming space, which was busy, but we found a table easily. Both my friend and I had the sausage and mash which was excellent quality and a value.I would recommend as a pleasant place for a value pub meal.

Lovely little pub, has a bus stop right outside making it a easy one to find. Atmosphere was not my favourite and found it a bit cold. Staff were helpful but did not seem interested. Drinks were not fairly priced for the area in my opinion but still nothing crazy. Beautiful pub that I think could definitely be so much more.

Great greeting and all the bar team were really attentive, talkative & nice from dinner to breakfast. The room was very clean and looked newly refreshed.Evening meal came out very quickly and was extremely good value.Really enjoyed my stay, would definitely stay again the next time I am in Portsmouth
