O2 Institute Birmingham

Although the sound is great. Purchased seating tickets and the venue had evidently oversold the show. So despite signs saying to remain seated and not to block the walkways. I not only didn't get to sit for the show I was 2 behind people stood in the walkways and could not see for the entire show.

Great venue, I'd not realised that to access the disabled area that you have to email the venue in advance. For this, the disabled section was full, yet the staff still catered to my needs by letting me have a stool in the standing area, so i spent the night propped up against the bar (huge plus). The drinks were a little pricey, the venue was clean, and plenty of checks were done before entering, so i felt safe. Security is on the ball, and toilet access was easy. Overall, it was a fantastic night in a great place.

I went to see the amazing Lucy Spraggan who was AMAZING and i loved it...but, we got balcony tickets- there was no seating which wasn't clear when we booked and the floor is all on the level so EVERYONE behind the first people couldn't see- only snippets when people moved there head etc, plus there was a huge pole thing in front of us. honestly, if it wasn't Lucy, i would have walked out. The TEAM however, were amazing, there were (at least) two emergencies during the concert (it was very hot ) and they were quick to help and organise everyone...the seating looked fine, and standing- just, avoid balcony, especially if you are short. I am 5 foot 7 and struggled to see the stage and i was only behind one line of not very tall people, i don't know how it is meant to work, so disappointing.There is a subway right next door and is easy to find, although some people got it mixed up with the 02 academy and had to run over town!

Saw thy art is murder there, very polite and hardworking security, giving us free cups of water during intermissions. Saw people crowd surfing but got back safely. Would reccomend again

i went to see ashnikko with the opening act hemlock springs, the location is great as it is in waking distance from hotels, train stations etc. the venue itself is simply gorgeous and even with the ‘worst’ view you can still see absolutely everything.

Every time we go there we're able to get a good view of the acts which is a novelty. I just love seeing bands at the Institute. Last performer Ten Tonnes.

Got tickets to see Little Man Tate at the venue. It was easy to get to and the crowd control was really good with the staff being friendly and helpful. The venue is very charming with all the old features intact. The bar prices are the usual for these types of venue. There is also a cloak room that charges £4 per item.

My favourite venue in Birmingham for gigs - friendly and helpful staff, great views and superb sound quality.Embrace were brilliant tonight, a proper trip down memory lane for the 25th Anniversary of The Good Will Out.
