Absolutely over the moon with the service I received from this company. Really pleased to have my pride and joy back and it’s driving beautifully.I called Kevin on Wednesday morning to get a quote to have a refurbished gear box and new clutch fitted into my VW caddy.Price was great and slightly lower than I had expected.Kevin booked my van in on the same day, it was collected earlier afternoon and returned to me the day after in the evening. I had told Kevin I’m self employed thus rely on my van and he ensured me it’d be back on time and it was.My van had an extra few bits that needed sorting out which they did for me at an extra cost (damn expensive vehicles!) but everything was sorted and I spoke to Jake (I think) on the phone and he explained what was being done and why. I’ve driven my van around a bit and its lovely and quiet and the clutch feels great. 10/10 would absolutely recommend and use this company again. I also have a 2 year warranty on both the gearbox and clutch which is amazing. Customer service was great, everyone is really friendly and happy to explain everything to me. Kevin’s a real genuine guy and went out of his way to make sure my van was sorted and back to me in such a short period of time and I’m so grateful to everyone who worked on it! Thank you so much guys!

People People please do not use this company, I had so many problems. Last month I ordered a gearbox for my transit and spoke to a guy called Kevin who demanded the money up front which I paid straight away with a bank transfer he then sent me an invoice to say it was settled so it was looking good. I was promised the box on a Wednesday which was only a few day's after I ordered it, great so on the Tuesday the garage took out my old gearbox ready for the new one. On the Wednesday no gearbox? so I called the office and they told me there was a mix up and that my gearbox would be with me on the Friday, ok mistakes do happen on the Friday no gearbox? so I called the office and they told me that the guy in the warehouse had put the wrong label on the box and it was sent to the wrong garage and was told that it would be with me on the Monday. At this point I was starting to get fed up as my van was sat there with no box waiting for the new one which means as a courier I was loosing money. On the Monday still no box. I then called the office and spoke to a lady called Kelly who told me that they will sort it out and then she hung up on me, I then called back to ask for a refund as I never received my box to be told that I had to wait 2 weeks for a refund as it was company policy. I thought this was bad as if I sent the box back because I did not want it then the 2 weeks would be fine but I never received the box. I waited 2 weeks and still no money, I then called the office and they told me that one of there largest customers had gone into liquidation and that I would have to wait another 4 weeks for my refund. I told them that I would call the police and report them for fraud they said do what ever as its a civil matter. So I phoned the Met police and reported them they gave me a crime reference number and said they will look into it. When I contacted the transmission people and gave them the crime number all of a sudden I got my refund. I have done some research on this company plus the directors to find that the address in London is just a mail box address that a lot of company's use just for mail, and they own a company called recondition gearbox which is going into liquidation they owe £250,000 and they have previously owned 5 other company's which have also gone bankrupt. SO AVOID AT ALL COST.

Beware of this company. Now I'm not keen to talk bad of anyone but this was the most appalling service I have ever received. Nothing but lies. Picked up the vehicle no problem and the prospect of a two year warranty was a good sale point but I would never go back to this company. They gave me a 5 day turn around for the gearbox to be fixed. However after a further 7 different completion dates where given I had my vehicle back after 6 WEEKS! During this period of time they offered to pay for a hire van as I am self employed. Big mistake. I had to wait for the payment for two months and this only came about after i posted a review of there service online and they contacted me within minutes after the review had been posted and told me to take it down otherwise they wouldn't pay me. All the best if you do use this company as you will have nothing but headaches and alot of stress! Please tell me what extra work" I asked you to carry out? Nothing but lies again. Always blaming another company or delays. Just excuses"

This is a true reflection on my experience with the Transmission people. With the initial sales process they were quick and quickly collected my car to have a reconditioned gear box fitted with a promise that it would be returned in 5 days. The evening my car was collected they contacted me again and informed me that they had stripped out the gearbox and that my clutch also required to be replaced at an additional cost. We agreed the cost and gave permission for the work to be progressed. The initial 5 days went and after a week we began to contact them asking when the car would be returned, on each occasion they came up with a different excuse why the car hadn’t been returned to us. After 2 weeks we received the car back and thought that was the end of our dealing with the transmission people, how wrong we were.Approximately 2 weeks after we received the car back we received a dart charge fine as they had not paid the toll for the Dartford crossing. 2 weeks after that we received a PCN for £110 for a parking ticket. I contacted the transmission people who stated that around 6 cars had received them when parked outside their workshop due to the council changing the parking restrictions without notification and that they were cancelling them all and to send over the ticket to their manager who would deal with it.After 10 days I had not heard anything else from them so when I contacted the transmission people again they confirmed that they would pay it that day. The next day we received a second PCN for £110, again I contacted the transmission people who stated that they would deal with it.I then decided to log onto Bexley council website to view where the car was when it received the two PCN’s, I was surprised that the two PCN’S were issued in a residential street where it was illegally parked and by the dates on the tickets it had been parked there for at least 6 days with a notice in the window saying broken down will be recovered on 4th June. This also surprised me as on the 1st June when they collected the car they said that they had already stripped out the gearbox and it was then they discovered we needed a new clutch for an additional cost. How can they have done this when it was clearly illegally parked on a residential street?I then contacted the transmission people daily regarding the payment of the tickets and the issue regarding the timings of where the car was parked and they would always come back with an excuse and every time no payments were made. As the time limits for the tickets to be paid were about to expire before they increased to £165 I had no choice but to pay the PCN’s myself.I will be going down the legal route of reclaiming the cost of the PCN’s and also as they stated on the 1st June that they had stripped the gearbox out and that we needed a new clutch at an additional cost which they invoiced for on that date, but this could not have been done due to the car being parked illegally in a residential street we will also be reporting them to trading standards. In response to your reply you did not pay the PCN’s I had to. Also the PCN’s were not issued outside your premises they were issued on a residential street where it was dumped for 6 days. Please save yourselves a lot of stress, and do not use these people they lie constantly.

I have to say the reviews on Google aren't good, this made me nervous once my van was collected and I was asked for money up front. However the collection of my van, work completed and return of the van was as they said. What I wanted was a quick and cheap fix avoiding the big garages and their long timescales. Thanks to Kevin who delivered, fixed and returned the van within 3days. I would use you again.

Nonononononononoooooooooo. Don't bother cost me a fortune. Phoned Kevin the salesman who was very nice had the gift of gab. I told him I wanted to book my campervan in the Sevenoaks workshop as it is not allowed in London as it is not lez low emmission zone. Van was collected Friday afternoon and told it would be a week to complete the job then told to pay £1495 up front bank transfer which I paid. Following Friday phoned Kevin for update and was told my van has gone to London workshop (plumsted) as Sevenoaks was too busy when I reminded him vehicle was not lez he told me not to worry as they use trade plates and the van will be ready following Friday. So waited another week phoned again and told van will be delivered Friday afternoon waited in all day when I phoned again and told the van what was following my van had broken down and they have returned to London. I told them I'll pick it up myself and was given the address of a private garage so l collected van myself Saturday mornning drove home and on inspection found o/s cv joint split so l got this repaired at local garage £95 2 days later I could not get vehicle in reverse back to local garage told clutch is knackered had new one fitted £550. transmission people give free advise on clutch condition. Any way van now runs perfect. Wait for it 1 week later letter from lez demanding £250 charge with photo of my van (no trade plates) if not paid goes up to £750. I phoned lez up and they told me I've got another 2 charges coming in the post. Kelly the transmission people manager said don't worry I will get it sorted. anyway I've paid the first one and lez said they will cancel following 2. I sent Kelly reciept for charge and she asked for my bank details which I gave her over 2 weeks ago after 3 more emails she still tells me there going to pay money back to my account. I wish I had read reviews before hand don't make same mistake as me. I'm an oap and it's made quite I'll with the stress and worry the are a tell lie after lie two Bob company. Brian Your reply is a load of b/s. You still have not reimbursed the lez charge and you never advised me about clutch or cv gaiter. People believe me stay well away from these cowboys. Why would I say these things if they were not true. And no one in there right mind would put back on a split cv gaiter . I have all emails and recorded phone calls. And I will be seeking legal advise

I wasnt going to a write a review as I believe problems occur and I believe in giving people the opportunity to right there wrongs, however I now feel its necessary after 9 weeks of chasing this company and getting no where.Car was collected and DRIVEN back to a garage they use in London. Apparently diagnosed with a gearbox issue we was then charged £1790 for a reconditioned gearbox, I paid that straight away to then be told the transfer unit had gone aswell which they were trying to get parts for.6 weeks later over 30 phone calls later, false promises of when we would get our car back and if we could get the parts for the transfer box and being given the run around still no car and still no updated news apart from they couldn't get the transfer unit for less than 1500 and they didnt have the mechanics to fix it anyway as they had had an accident so was short on staff, so the car come back broken and undriveable car kept popping out of reverse which it shouldn't have been doing plus it was meant to be valeted and wasnt it came back dirtier than when they recieved it (I have photo proof) cigarette lighter had been stolen from our car AND there are 2 HUGE scratches where it had been hit when moving it from on place in the garage to another, plus scratches and rips to the the plastic and seats inside where the piled all the gearbox etc inside our car.Time scale no followed, job not completed properly I've had to send it elsewhere for it to finally be fixed as they are no longer answering my calls so the gearbox warranty that they gave me was irrelevant as they're ignoring my calls for the last 7 days. It took 6 weeks to get an agreement of 500 compensation for the issues they caused us 6 weeks with no car when they knew we have 3 kids one of which is severely disabled and cant be without a car due to hospital appointments etc yet this was disregarded and 9 weeks later I'm still chasing the 500 that they havnt bothered to send over. Leaving told me last week it would be in by Friday this hasnt happened and I've rung 8 times since then the only one I can get hold of is Jake and he hasnt got the authority to do anything about this issue as Kevin and Kelly are the only ones who can I've also emailed them and they've not responded to that either. Trading standards have no advised me to persue this through court and the motor ombudsman as a consumer you have your basic rights which states that a job must be completed in the time scale or reasonable to the time scale you was advised 3-5 days I was advised it took 6 weeks (clearly not reasonable)Plus in a good enough standard and working order (car was undriveable and wouldn't stay in gear after repair yet they drove it from here to plumbstead when they collected it dont forget)And it came back damaged in more places than one with items stolen from within. Please be careful.4 months later still no compensation although promised on 100s of occasions. No point chasing just take the scammers straight to court. They dont give you a legal address of head office, HOWEVER after speaking to trading standards THIS alone is against the law. If they wont work there business the legitimate way then all unhappy people should report to citizens advice trading standards, motor ombudsman and small claims court. It's not fair for anymore people to get stung by them!

PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY! Worst experience I have ever had with a motor supplier! One star as minimum the this site will accept.Round 1Ordered a reconditioned gearbox for my Skoda Yeti by phone beginning of May.Spoke to salesman Kevin.Yes they could supply one in the next 3 to 5 days, as soon as invoice paid.Paid invoice by Bank Transfer on May 3rd to the account ofMetro BankG Woodsaccount number 29790132sort code 23-05-80Gearbox did not arrive on agreed date. Many calls and emails over next few weeks to Kevin, each time with an excuse and promise of delivery, and each time gearbox did not arrive.Kevin was now avoiding my calls and not responding to emails. When I did get in touch, he faithfully promised to personally gaurtentee to have the gearbox to me within 2 to 3 days.Gearbox did not arrive. Finally gave up on Kevin as someone whose word could not be trusted. In meantime, I managed to get in touch with Kelly, Office Manager.Repeat of Kevin saga, with missed delivery dates and not responding to promises of getting back to me by phone or email.Final straw came when she said a gearbox had been dispatched, but the carriers, Patersons, had lost it in their depot, as the label had come off the crate!I refused the offer of another gearbox she claimed to have and asked for a refund. This was agreed and I sent bank detailsRound 2Repeat of Round 1 with broken assurances and excuses from Kevin and Kelly, ignoring my emails and avoiding calls. The favorite excuse was that the details are on the Finance Directors desk ( G.Woods ?) and he is dealing with it, and I should have had the refund by now, and they will raise it with him asap.It is now two months since I ordered a gearbox, and subsequentaly asked for a refund.Round 3I have been cheated by an untrustworthy company and will now take steps to retrieve from G. Woods the 995 pounds I paid for goods I did not receive.Any advice or comments, please reply. Watch this space.I can only repeat PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. You have been warned.UPDATE 17 7 2019Round 3 continued.Steps taken to recover my money1. Sent recorded delivery letters to company sating my case and requesting my money, 1 to Kelly Office manager and another to G. Woods (paid my money to this persons account). No response to letters.2. Contacted my bank (Bank of Scotland) to seek their help in recovering my funds. Their Disputes Team contacted G. Woods bank (Metro Bank) but they could not help. Suggested contact the police agency Action Fraud Agency. Registered complaint with them on line..3. Contacted County Court Business Centre, Online Civil Money Claims. The Transmission People have until the 5th August to respond to my claim for a refund. Thereafter, they could get a County Court Judgment (CCJ) made against them.Watch this space for updates.

They collected my car December last year for a reconditioned gearbox and new clutch with a promise of a week turnaround. After five months of phoning them, I finally got it back May this year in a worse condition than I gave it to them. They promised a full refund, after numerous phone calls I'm still waiting

Initially I had a good service with them. They picked my car up, replaced the gearbox and clutch and returned it no problem. However 1 month later my clutch broke which led to me breaking down on the Motorway. I reported the problem to them on the same day and they said under the warranty they would pick the car up the next day. However 6 days later I am still waiting for my car to be picked up. They have now told me three times they would pick my car up the next day but have failed to do so each time. The communication has been appalling, they did not notify me that no one would be coming to collect my car which has resulted in me chasing them for six days straight. Even today I have tried calling both numbers listed on their website to see if someone will be coming to collect my car but no one is picking up. I feel very let down, after reporting it on Tuesday I was hoping my car would be fixed by the following week, instead I have had to pay for a hire car in order to get to work.
