Genesis Blacksmithing

I had an experience day purchased as a gift and it certainly did not disappoint! I've never done this before and Genesis was very helpful and patient. I went with a friend and we made a knife and had a lunch afterwards. I would 100% recommend for anyone thinking about this

I booked the Forge and Feast for my husband as a birthday present and he loved it. It was an amazing day out. The course was brilliant and he came away very happy with his hand forged knife.Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience day doing Forge & Feast for 2. Genesis is a great teacher, very friendly and encouraging. The ploughman's lunch at the end was to delish, all eaten with the knives and pickle spikes we made on the day! 10/10 would recommend for a date or family day out

Genesis was amazing from start to finish, and helped us to create two beautiful rings for our wedding day. The blacksmith experience was fun, relaxed and informative, where genesis was very patient and carefully led us through the steps. After we left, genesis had to do a couple extra processes to polish off and slim down the rings. Our wedding day was the Friday on the week if the postal strikes, and we had a bit of a worry about them getting to us in time as we don't live local. Genesis went above and beyond for us and made sure we had the rings safely with us before the day! Fabulous experience, teacher, customer service, value and end result. Thank you so much genesis, you are a star!

Had a one on one day in the forge with Genesis and had the best time learning the techniques of shaping metal into some pretty cool things and learning how not to overheat the steel by talking too much! Genesis is a really good teacher and a very interesting guy who literally works in the best man cave you can find with 3d printers, an induction forge and what I thought were ninja stars but turned out to be jingle bell templates that fold into a bell. Honestly that was the only let down of the day haha everything else was a brilliant experience with arm cramp at the end, but with a massive sense of achievement. Highly recommend.

We visited the forge as a group of 4 to do the forge and feast experience. It was the most brilliant day! We each made a cheese knife and a pickle spike. Genesis was so patient, and explained everything really thoroughly, always being on hand to help. When we had finished forging, we all sat down and ate together using our newly made equipment! It really was brilliant, and we would highly recommend.

Had a brilliant few hours here! We made a cheese knife with fire, a hammer and an anvil! How cool is that! Also Genesis is a really good teacher and provided some lovely refreshments afterwards.

I was given the One Day, One-to-One Blacksmith Experience as a present by my wife. I have never done any forging before, nor am I fit. Genesis was waiting for me outside to lead me to the forge, getting me comfortable. His safety briefing was clear and to the point: assume very hot metal at all times! Then he proceeded to take me through the various stages of simple forging. His easy manner belies his 12 years experience and degree. He has great knowledge of not only forging but metallurgy, the history of the art of blacksmithing and so forth! But let this not deter you: he deftly shows you how to swing and use the hammer, so that one does not get exhausted nor even work a sweat! Then suddenly he has me forging a delicate leaf! Something that actually looks genuinely good!Now that is skill: to get a total beginner to spend a day to produce a set of items showing their improvement, whetting their appetite, yet having something they can actually show off. Well done! I need to find more dates in my diary...!

Genesis is a really good instructor, I'm not sure that I could be a great Smith given an infinite amount of time... but the 3-4 hours we had were fun and went really fast. If you're intrigued in blacksmithing it's worth doing.

Had a great time at the Forge and Fest day and was amazed to have come home with working knifes and pickle forks! The cheese afterwards was great, and the honey from the onsite hives was a great surprise and super tasty!
