The historical hall is in majestic setting and looks inviting. Stayed overnight after a meal, the food and service was excellent. The room was a little tied, but clean and priced very reasonably.Don't forget to visit the enchanting walled garden next to the hall, and sit for while.Ample parking.Recommended

Lovely setting. Rooms were very tired. Heating not working in the bathroom on a very cold weekend. Breakfast a little less than organised, had run out of most items within an hour. However, still a good stay and lovely, friendly people.

Lovely Christmas meal for a large group of people. Service and food better than when we came a couple of years ago. Beautiful setting and easy access with new roads too.

We were here for a cream tea. And what a beautiful place it is. Served our cream tea out on the terrace over looking part of the gardens & it was so peaceful. The staff were really lovely & the cream tea was terrific value even if a bit too much to eat for us. But we asked for a box to take what we couldn't eat home with us.

We had afternoon tea here as part of my mother's 80th birthday treat. The whole experience other than the grounds was adisappointed. There was no one to tell us where the table was had to wait at the bar for over 5mins before a single member of staff was seen! Eventually the barmaid came out and showed us to our table. The food was mediocre. Nothing amazing or worthy of the price and not equal amounts the 3 of us.We were left alone and not attended at all once we had been given our food. Had to ask at the bar for more tea as only one pot for all of us.This should have been a lovely experience but was very disappointing. I will not be returning or recommending it.

I need to start off by saying the service was phenomenal, top-tier, Andrew was very very helpful, an absolute gem. Expedia neglected to inform us our stay was cancelled but Andrew was able to help us out. The rooms I believe are in the process of being updated, so I can't totally speak towards that, but I can see that they need work. Breakfast was great, finding it is easy and parking is good.

One of our favourite places to visit in Cambridge. Beautiful gardens and stunning 16th century country house. There is a small cafeteria which serves decent food. Ideal for a family outing or just an afternoon walk.

Really impressed by the building, the gardens and the friendliness of the staff and the standard of the accommodation. It is part of the university but a big step up from student accommodation. Clean, quiet room. Simple bathroom. Very good breakfast. Very good value. Only 2 miles from Park and Ride into Cambridge and 5 miles from city centre.

Beautiful setting but otherwise disappointing. After a busy week of work and travel, I had hoped for one good night's rest, but no. I was woken at 5:30am as someone was banging doors in the corridor outside my room. I couldn't sleep after that. The shower was hilariously bad. About every minute the water would go from an okay temperature to uncomfortably/painfully hot, to cold, and then back to normal. All this without adjusting the settings. On a positive note, the reception staff were friendly and the breakfast was basic but good.Combined with this experience and the location of the hall, a taxi or vehicle is required to reach it, I won't be back.
